Priya Praveen’s Instagram Voice Captivates Bollywood Star Vidya Balan
Priya’s journey from a hesitant content creator to a viral sensation is a captivating tale. Initially, during the Covid-19 lockdown, she began making videos as a way to connect with loved ones while staying busy. What started as a simple pastime quickly transformed into something much larger and unexpected.
From Banker to Content Creator
After stepping away from her banking career to care for her daughter, Priya pursued her love for Kerala mural painting. During the lockdown, she began exploring platforms like TikTok, often accompanied by her husband and daughter. Despite her efforts, she was initially reluctant to showcase her voice, referring to herself as a “selective extrovert.” Public speaking was not her forte, and the thought of being in front of an audience made her anxious.
The turning point came during the Onam festival in 2020 when Priya collaborated with friends across different countries. This experience gave her the confidence to share her voice publicly. Soon, she drew inspiration from trending humorous videos based on Hindi-language Covid-19 advisories and created a comedic sketch titled “Shall We Learn Hindi?” The video, featuring purposely incorrect translations, included the now-iconic phrase, “Is duniya mein koi nahi,” humorously reinterpreted as “There are no chickens in this world.”
A Viral Return
Fast forward six years, and Priya found herself surprised by the resurgence of her audio when it was featured in a Reel by Bollywood actress Vidya Balan. Friends began tagging her as the Reel gained traction, catching the attention of both fans and public figures, including BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar. For Priya, the most significant aspect was not the celebrity endorsement but the wider acknowledgment of a voice she once felt insecure about.
As the audio became a staple in various influencer posts, Priya started receiving messages from friends telling her that her voice had reached an even broader audience. The journey of acceptance and recognition for her voice has been both emotional and humorous for her.
Creativity Amidst Challenges
Priya’s creative path has never been linear. After leaving her banking job, she focused on her passion for traditional Kerala mural art and even started an online boutique featuring her painted designs. However, a serious accident in Dubai posed challenges for her creativity, leading to physical limitations that made prolonged painting difficult. Despite these setbacks, she found solace in creating Reels, allowing her to express herself without the physical strains of painting.
Now residing in Dubai with her husband Praveen, who works in real estate, and their daughter studying forensic science in India, Priya enjoys a dynamic life shaped by creativity. Yet, despite her newfound popularity, she has no intentions of becoming a full-time influencer or voice artist. For her, making Reels remains a way to unwind and enjoy life.
Unexpected Joy and Connections
Priya’s story is a testament to how unexpected situations can lead to significant changes. She never envisioned her voice becoming a recognizable sound in social media circles. The irony of her voice, once deemed “bad,” now being celebrated adds an amusing layer to her narrative.
As she embraces this sudden surge of recognition, she remains grounded, choosing not to dwell on future expectations but to savor the present moment and the warm reception. In the end, Priya’s infectious laughter and creativity mark a remarkable journey filled with surprises and heartfelt connections, proving that sometimes, the most unexpected paths hold the most joy.
