Emirates to increase Airbus A380 flights to Delhi

Emirates Airline is set to enhance its A380 operations with the introduction of flights to New Delhi, starting October 25, 2026. This addition marks a significant expansion for Emirates in India, as it will be the third Indian city to host the Airbus A380 service, joining Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Expansion of Airbus A380 Services

The Emirates Airbus A380 will operate in a four-class configuration on flights EK512 and EK513. This decision complements the existing deployment of its retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft, which also features a four-class layout inclusive of Premium Economy. With this update, Emirates aims to improve its service network and meet the growing demand for travel between India and Dubai.

In total, the introduction of the A380 will enhance the offerings of Premium Economy across six routes, including services to New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Kochi. The mixed fleet will comprise Airbus A380, Airbus A350, and four-class configured Boeing 777 aircraft, ensuring passengers enjoy a wider variety of options when traveling.

Changes in Other Routes

Beyond Delhi, Emirates is also implementing several changes to its current routes. Starting October 25, the daily Kolkata-Dubai service (EK570/571), which is currently operated with a Boeing 777, will utilize an Airbus A350, bringing Premium Economy to this route as well. The retrofitted Boeing 777 will continue to operate on EK572/573 five times a week, again highlighting the airline’s commitment to enhancing the passenger experience.

Another notable update includes the Delhi-Dubai route, where the four-class service will now be available on all daily flights. Premium Economy will be a notable feature on flight EK513 (A380) as well as on several Boeing 777 flights, demonstrating Emirates’ adaptability to customer preferences and market demands.

Insights from Emirates Leadership

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, spoke about the airline’s commitment to the Indian market. He remarked, “Emirates’ long-standing commitment to India is reflected in the continued rollout of our latest products, designed to enhance the travel experience.” He expressed excitement about the introduction of A380 services in Delhi, emphasizing its status as a crucial gateway in their network.

Kazim further mentioned the enhanced availability of Premium Economy services across six gateways in India, indicating that this expansion would cater to nearly half of their scheduled weekly flights. He also hinted at additional service enhancements in the pipeline, underscoring the airline’s dedication to maintaining strong partnerships in India.

Increasing Premium Options

With the expansion of Premium Economy and the inclusion of A380 services, Emirates aims to capture a larger segment of the premium travel market in India. For passengers, this means more choices and increased seat availability on the Delhi route. For Emirates, it presents numerous opportunities to funnel more travelers through its Dubai hub, thereby integrating them into its expansive network.

This strategic move underscores Emirates’ commitment to delivering an exceptional travel experience, while also reinforcing its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets. As the airline continues to adapt and innovate, travelers can expect enhanced offerings that align with their preferences.
