Dubai Integrated Economic Zones expands Oraseya fund to $272 million.

The Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) has recently taken a significant step to bolster its venture capital landscape. The authority has announced a substantial increase in the size of its venture capital fund, managed by Oraseya Capital, elevating its assets from AED 500 million (approximately $136 million) to AED 1 billion (around $272 million). This expansion is poised to enhance the fund’s ability to nurture companies with global aspirations, thereby reinforcing Dubai’s stature as an innovation and entrepreneurship hub.

Objectives of the Fund Expansion

The primary aim of this expansion is to support firms possessing the potential for international growth while aligning with Dubai’s Economic Agenda, known as D33. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Chairman of DIEZ, emphasized that the boost in the fund reflects a strong faith in Dubai’s status as a thriving technology hub. Expanding Oraseya Capital’s capabilities will provide promising companies with essential resources, such as capital and expertise, to facilitate their expansion into local and global markets.

According to Sheikh Al Maktoum, investing in promising businesses is key to enhancing the overall entrepreneurial ecosystem in Dubai. “We are confident in Dubai’s future as a prominent center for capital and innovation. Our mission is to transform this confidence into real investments and opportunities that bolster the objectives outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33,” he stated. This initiative aims to strengthen Dubai’s competitive edge while establishing the UAE as a key player in future-focused sectors and investments.

Investment Mandate and Market Position

One of the critical features of the expanded fund is its broadened investment mandate. Oraseya Capital will now support entrepreneurs at all phases of growth, extending its reach beyond Series B investments. This will enable the fund to back established companies with proven business models, while still nurturing early-stage startups. By doing so, Oraseya Capital aims to solidify its standing in the venture capital ecosystem.

Remarkably, Oraseya Capital has rapidly positioned itself as an influential player in the UAE’s venture capital scene. According to MAGNiTT, a platform that tracks venture capital activities, the fund has been recognized as the most active investor in the UAE for three years running. In the 2024 rankings, it triumphantly maintained the top position, and its momentum continued into 2025 and the first half of 2026. Notably, it was also awarded ‘Venture Capital Firm of the Year’ at the Entrepreneur Middle East Awards 2025, underscoring its growing prominence.

Future Growth Strategies

Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, the Executive Chairman of DIEZ, shared insights into the strategies guiding this expansion. “Doubling the size of the fund embodies the success of Oraseya Capital’s model and achievements since its inception,” he remarked. This growth trajectory not only reflects the fund’s adaptability to the aspirations of emerging enterprises but also aims to create impactful partnerships that influence the investment landscape.

The future for Oraseya Capital looks promising as it embarks on a new growth phase. With a clear investment strategy that combines capital infusion, expert guidance, and access to a robust network of investors and partners, the fund is set to make significant contributions to Dubai’s evolving economy. By reinforcing its commitment to supporting a diverse array of businesses, Oraseya Capital will continue to play a pivotal role in positioning Dubai as a leading hub for innovation and investment.
