Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has officially opened registration for the 31st International Symposium on Electronic/Emerging Art (ISEA2026 Dubai), which will take place from November 6 to 15, 2026. This year’s theme, ‘ELYAH: Constellating Place, Data, and Identity,’ sets the stage for a grand event anticipated to be the largest in the symposium’s history. Artists, researchers, and innovators from across the globe will come together to delve into the fascinating convergence of art, science, and technology, sharing insights on the evolving landscape of contemporary creativity.
Advancing Dubai’s Digital Arts Scene
This initiative supports Dubai Culture’s mission to enhance the digital arts ecosystem while fulfilling objectives outlined in its Digital Arts Roadmap. The event not only nurtures local talent but also solidifies Dubai’s reputation as a cultural hub and an innovator in the creative economy, deeply rooted in Emirati heritage. By fostering artistic expression, Dubai aims to reinforce its standing as a global reference point for culture and innovation.
A Hybrid Experience for Participants
ISEA2026 will offer both an in-person Artistic Programme throughout Dubai and an Online Academic Programme accessible from anywhere in the world. Operating from November 6 to 9, the Online Academic Programme will feature Special Track panels and workshops, culminating in the main academic conference sessions occurring between November 10 and 14, 2026. While registration for the Artistic Programme is free, access to the Online Academic Programme requires a purchased ticket. Every participant must complete registration to receive a personalized QR code for easy access at various artistic venues. Those attending online will receive detailed access information to their email, and students can avail of a 50% discount using their valid university email addresses.
Fostering Dialogue and Collaboration
Maitha Ali Al Blooshi, Director of the Emerging Arts Department at Dubai Culture and Executive Director of ISEA2026, emphasized the event’s importance in bridging the artistic and academic communities while enriching discussions about the future of digital and emerging arts. “ISEA2026 Dubai offers an invaluable opportunity for audiences to engage with innovative artistic experiences that illustrate technology’s creative potential,” she remarked.
Al Blooshi further noted that hosting the symposium exemplifies Dubai’s position as a global leader willing to embrace groundbreaking artistic ventures while attracting a wealth of creativity from diverse cultures. The symposium will feature over 100 artworks, 145 academic papers, and numerous artist talks and workshops, inviting participants to engage with projects that investigate the intricate connections between individuals, locations, and technology.
Exploring Core Themes of Innovation
ISEA is recognized as one of the foremost platforms examining the interplay between art, science, and technology. The upcoming symposium will delve into four central themes: Charting Constellations, Celestial Dialogues, Eco-Tech Futures, and Starlinked Worlds.
- Charting Constellations will address topics related to place, digital geographies, identity, and community.
- Celestial Dialogues will focus on cultural exchange, storytelling, and collaboration.
- Eco-Tech Futures will tackle the pressing need for environmental responsibility alongside sustainable technology.
- Starlinked Worlds will examine the relationship between technology and human experience, focusing on ethical, philosophical, and speculative aspects of the future.
Through these themes, ISEA2026 aims to facilitate a rich dialogue among artists and researchers, promoting inventive thinking about the future of digital and emerging arts. As the event approaches, its promise to connect, innovate, and inspire is evident, marking a significant contribution to Dubai’s cultural and artistic landscape.
