Villa worth $670,000 in Dubai linked to Kravchenko’s mother-in-law identified
Investigative journalists from the organization “Schemes” have uncovered significant financial dealings involving Alina Shkrobanets, the former mother-in-law of Ukraine’s ex-Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko. Based on a leak from the Dubai Land Department, it appears that Shkrobanets made an investment of roughly $670,000 in a townhouse in July 2023, a time when Kravchenko held a prominent political position as the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration. Shkrobanets, however, denies making this purchase and claims her identity may have been misused.
Details of the Investment
The apartment in question is a townhouse located in the upscale Damac Lagoons Mykonos community in Dubai, spanning over 143 square meters. The information regarding the property surfaced through a collaboration between “Schemes” and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). According to the registries, on July 20, 2023, the property was bought under Shkrobanets’ name. Given the exchange rate at the time, this investment amounted to approximately 24.5 million hryvnias, with the seller identified as Island Oasis Properties, a notable real estate company in the UAE.
Significantly, the date of the transaction coincides with another pivotal moment in the Kravchenko family. On the same day, Alina’s daughter, Olena, resigned from her role in the Office of the Prosecutor General, where she was married to Kravchenko. Meanwhile, Kravchenko, listed his right to use Shkrobanets’ 2013 Infiniti QX70 in his financial disclosure. By November 2024, Kravchenko and Olena divorced, and he later ascended to the role of Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
The Changing Ownership
Further investigation reveals that the townhouse eventually changed ownership in 2025 when it was acquired by Andriy Keibash, a Kyiv restaurateur and owner of La Veranda. Confirming this acquisition, Keibash sourced the property online, denying any connection to Shkrobanets. Meanwhile, footage from the restaurant from December 2022 displayed Shkrobanets, her husband Igor, and daughter Olena, socializing with Keibash and raising questions about their potential connections.
Shkrobanets insists she has not been involved in any real estate dealings, specifically noting, “I didn’t buy anything in the United Arab Emirates.” When queried about who could have misused her identity, she remained vague. Interestingly, she claims no communication with Ruslan Kravchenko for over two years, asserting he had never approached her regarding property matters.
Responses from the Kravchenko Family
Olena, Shkrobanets’ daughter, remained unresponsive to journalists’ inquiries, only stating, “Unfortunately, I know nothing about this.” Efforts to seek comments from Ruslan Kravchenko have not yet yielded results. Meanwhile, Keibash’s confirmation of the purchase cast additional doubt, given the notable previous owner.
Despite all the uncertainty surrounding the property’s past ownership, Alina Shkrobanets remains a significant figure in these proceedings, particularly regarding the declarations required from her husband, Ihor Shkrobants, a member of the Chernivtsi Regional Council. Journalists highlighted that any real estate belonging to Shkrobanets should have been noted in his financial disclosure, a detail conspicuously absent from his submissions.
Implications for Kravchenko’s Career
Ruslan Kravchenko’s history complicates matters even further. During the period of the alleged property registration, he was at the helm of the Kyiv Regional State Administration and subsequently became Ukraine’s Prosecutor General. He resigned from this position amid allegations of corruption linked to fraudulent activities within his office but has not been directly implicated in the ownership or financing of the Dubai townhouse.
As this case continues to unfold, the true ownership of the property remains a mystery. Investigations by “Schemes” are ongoing to clarify the nature of the claims, including inquiries directed at Ruslan Kravchenko himself.
