Ex-Prosecutor General’s Former Mother-in-Law Refutes Purchase of Dubai Townhouse, Points to Potential Data Misuse | Ukraine News
A recent investigation into property transactions in Dubai has raised eyebrows, particularly around the ownership of a townhouse allegedly purchased by Alina Shkrobanets. Discrepancies between the buyer and purported owner, as well as unanswered questions regarding the legitimacy of the transaction, point to a complex scenario.
Denial of Purchase by Alina Shkrobanets
Alina Shkrobanets, who is linked to Ruslan Kravchenko through family ties, has firmly denied acquiring any real estate in Dubai. In an interview with journalists from Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, she expressed her concerns that her personal information may have been misused without her consent. “I did not buy anything in the United Arab Emirates… I wonder whether I could have been used,” she stated, emphasizing her lack of need for such an investment.
The enigma deepens with the information unveiling Shkrobanets’ alleged purchase of a townhouse at Damac Lagoons Mykonos, valued at approximately $670,000. This revelation came from a data leak associated with Dubai’s Land Department, revealing that the purchase occurred on July 20, 2023. The seller was recorded as Island Oasis Properties, a reputable construction firm in the UAE, although construction was still in progress at the time.
Statements from Family and the Buyer
Ihor Shkrobanets, Alina’s husband and a member of the Chernivtsi Regional Council, expressed his unawareness of any real estate transactions tied to his wife. He echoed her suspicions regarding the potential misuse of her personal data and noted that the Dubai property did not appear on his asset declaration.
Further complicating matters, Andriy Keibash, a restaurateur from Kyiv, was identified in the leaked documents as the buyer of the property, confirming its purchase for nearly $670,000. However, Keibash denied any involvement of Shkrobanets in the transaction. “I simply saw information online about investment opportunities – and that was it,” he claimed, although he could not recall the specific seller, ultimately leaving journalists without clear documentation to clarify the situation.
Shkrobanets acknowledged her acquaintance with Keibash but denied having discussed any property-related matters with him. Notably, she and her family were captured on video visiting Keibash’s restaurant just months before the purchase, which raises further questions about their connections.
Connections to Ruslan Kravchenko
The plot thickens on the day the townhouse was bought, coinciding with Shkrobanets’ daughter Olena’s resignation from the Prosecutor General’s Office, where Kravchenko served as head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. His financial declaration included the use of his mother-in-law’s vehicle, showcasing a potential link between the families.
The divorce between Kravchenko and Olena later took place in November 2024. Journalists have sought comments from Kravchenko regarding the alleged property transaction, but a response has yet to be obtained. Subsequent developments have further drawn Kravchenko into the spotlight; he resigned as Prosecutor General on allegations of his office’s connection to illegal activities involving fraudulent call centers, though no charges were filed against him.
The discrepancies in Alina Shkrobanets’ claims regarding her supposed purchase of the townhouse in Dubai indicate potential misuse of her identity. While there are documents supporting the sale of the property, they do not definitively reveal who was behind the initial purchase, leaving many questions unanswered in this intriguing case.
