Yango Ride Expands School Transport Initiative Throughout Dubai for 2026/2027

Yango Ride is revolutionizing the daily school commute in Dubai, aiming to provide a safer, more economical, and manageable transport solution for families. This ride-hailing service, backed by the UAE’s Yango Group, has extended its School Rides pilot program in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for the 2026/2027 academic year. The initiative now services 11 schools across 12 residential communities, enhancing access and convenience for families in the region.

Expanding School Rides Across Dubai

The School Rides service is an integral part of RTA’s vision to develop a smart and sustainable transportation ecosystem in Dubai. By uniting students who travel along similar paths, the service reduces reliance on private vehicles, promoting smoother traffic flow in school zones during busy hours. Introduced in January 2026, Yango School Rides operates on fixed schedules, offering door-to-door transport that is both efficient and reliable. Families can now enjoy predefined routes and designated pickup windows within areas like Al Quoz, Jumeirah Village Circle, and Dubai Marina, making daily commutes less stressful.

Comprehensive Coverage and School Partnerships

The current list of participating schools includes notable institutions such as the American School of Dubai, Dubai American Academy, and GEMS World Academy, among others. This expanded coverage facilitates greater accessibility for families, allowing students across various communities to benefit from this transportation solution. By combining technology and a shared transport model, Yango aims to ease congestion around school areas, thereby enhancing safety and convenience for students and parents alike.

Commitment to Safety and Technology Integration

Safety is a cornerstone of Yango’s initiative. Each vehicle, a premium GMC designed to carry a maximum of six students, is operated by trained and vetted UAE-licensed drivers. These drivers receive specialized training focused on student safety and emergency response, ensuring a secure environment for all passengers. Yango employs advanced routing technology, allowing for real-time vehicle tracking and effective monitoring of each route. Parents can stay connected and informed throughout the journey via WhatsApp tracking links and timely notifications regarding pickup and drop-off.

Affordable and Flexible Transport Options

The School Rides service provides families with an additional choice for their children’s daily commute, complementing existing school bus services and private transport options. It is particularly aimed at students aged 12 and older, available on a monthly subscription basis. The introductory rate is AED 1,000 for the first two months, after which the fee rises to AED 1,500 for continual round-trip service. This subscription-based model supports families with their transport needs while also fostering a culture of shared mobility in the city.

As Yango Ride continues to develop and adapt, feedback from families and schools will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the service. The broader adoption of pooled school transportation not only helps to alleviate traffic congestion but also promotes a sustainable approach to daily commutes. With a focus on efficient urban mobility, Yango and RTA are committed to building a transportation network that enhances accessibility while aligning with Dubai’s smart mobility initiatives. Over time, this model aims to create a more integrated and responsive school transport system, setting a new standard for urban commuting in the region.
