Tech Specialist Discusses Agentic AI’s Role in FM Operations at Dubai Event
Danish Bukhari, a key figure at HITEK AI, shared valuable insights at the Clean Middle East Convention held on September 24th at the JW Marriott Marina in Dubai. His presentation, titled “Can AI Replace Experience? The Human Debate in Cleaning & FM,” focused on the integration and significance of Agentic AI across various operational sectors rather than viewing it as a standalone component.
Understanding Agentic AI in Facilities Management
During the panel discussion, Bukhari emphasized the multifaceted nature of Agentic AI in facilities management (FM). Rather than a singular product, this type of AI functions as a foundational layer that enhances numerous aspects of operation. A prime example he provided was the use of FHU robots at Dubai Airports. These robots collaborate with human staff across multiple locations and adjust their deployment based on passenger traffic and aircraft schedules, rather than sticking to a predetermined rota.
Such advancements are also evident in the maritime industry. Bukhari discussed how HITEK’s CONDTEK solution employs AI to analyze photographic documentation from over 16,000 assets. This sophisticated technology identifies issues previously not recorded, including real-time alerts on critical equipment like fire pump controllers. This capability optimizes safety and service levels, demonstrating how AI can significantly enhance operational efficiency.
AI’s Role in Quality and Safety Compliance
In collaboration with a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) client, HITEK further expanded the use of Agentic AI to cover 40 different processes associated with quality and safety compliance. This comprehensive integration involved monitoring service requests, balancing assignments, and tracking service-level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs). Bukhari explained that while AI is instrumental in structuring evidence, the processing and accountability ultimately reside with qualified personnel. This balance illustrates the importance of human expertise even in an increasingly automated world.
The strategic blending of AI technologies within FM operations not only streamlines tasks but also elevates the quality of deliverables in a sector that demands both efficiency and reliability. Bukhari’s insights reaffirm the idea that while AI significantly transforms operational landscapes, it cannot and should not replace human judgement and experience.
