Survey reveals 96.4% of UAE residents proud of Dubai living
Dubai: The Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai has revealed the findings of the eighth Social Survey for 2024–2025. This initiative exemplifies the emirate’s dedication to establishing a robust data-driven social development framework, pivotal for informed decision-making that aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33. The survey aims to enhance family stability and social unity, resonating with the objectives of the ‘Year of the Family’.
Strategic Insights for Societal Development
Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, the Director General of CDA, emphasized the significance of the Social Survey as a strategic instrument in comprehending societal dynamics and forecasting future needs. She stated that its results illustrate a cohesive institutional approach that employs data to benefit residents, aiming to cultivate social policies that are more efficient and responsive. “The outcomes of this eighth cycle confirm that Dubai is continually making progress toward its development goals, prioritizing the well-being of its people and families,” said Buhumaid.
This Social Survey serves as a national benchmark, offering a thorough analysis of societal trends, including quality of life, family dynamics, and overall stability and well-being. The data gathered supports the formulation and efficacy of social policies.
Key Areas of Focus
The survey encompasses seven distinct pillars that provide an insightful overview of life in Dubai: quality of life, family cohesion, social solidarity, social inclusion, financial well-being, societal values, and digital life. The pillar dedicated to quality of life indicated ongoing enhancements. The happiness score averaged 8.6, with life satisfaction rated at 8.72 out of 10. Approximately 95% of residents consider Dubai their top choice for living, underscoring a strong sense of safety and religious freedom—key components indicative of public trust and a nurturing environment.
Furthermore, the pride among UAE residents in living in Dubai reached an impressive 96.4%, demonstrating the emirate’s successful integration of social diversity. Notably, senior citizens reported a happiness index of 86.8%, pointing to the quality of life experienced by older community members.
Family and Community Strength
In the realm of family and social cohesion, the survey recorded a Family Bond Index of 95.3%, illustrating the family’s fundamental role in social stability. This achievement reflects ongoing initiatives designed to fortify family connections and values, aligning with the ‘Year of the Family’ campaign. The survey also highlighted substantial levels of social solidarity, with 84% of respondents affirming they have reliable support in times of need.
Moreover, the reported rate of volunteerism rose significantly, climbing from 8.4% to 13.2%, which reflects a burgeoning culture of philanthropy and heightened sense of communal responsibility that enriches Dubai’s social fabric.
Social Inclusion and Digital Connectivity
When examining social inclusion, more than 90% of individuals with disabilities indicated feeling integrated into society. Respondents also noted easy access to education and essential services, indicating a community that actively supports all its members.
Additionally, the survey revealed nearly universal internet access, with 98.6% of the population having connectivity at home, showcasing Dubai’s advanced digital infrastructure. In terms of community engagement, the awareness of the role of Community Majalis surged from 87% in 2022 to 92.6% in 2024, with participation rates among Emiratis rising significantly, solidifying these venues as vital community engagement platforms.
The eighth Social Survey embodies a step forward in evaluating societal changes and understanding community needs.
