Punjab truck driver in Dubai wins ₹1.3 crore lottery, supports family.

A 53-year-old truck driver from Punjab, currently residing in Dubai, has struck gold in the latest Abu Dhabi Big Ticket draw, taking home Dh500,000 (approximately ₹1.3 crore). This remarkable win is a testament to the joy and anticipation associated with lottery draws for many expatriates in the UAE.

A Journey of Hope and Luck

Kulwant Singh, who has made Dubai his home for the past 18 years, celebrated this life-changing moment alongside a group of five friends. For the last two years, the group has pooled their resources to buy tickets every month, hoping that one day their luck would change. Kulwant discovered the Big Ticket through online videos years ago, and after several years of watching, he finally decided to participate. In a stroke of serendipity, he randomly picked a ticket that would ultimately bring in the winning news.

Expressing his joy, Kulwant stated, “I was very happy when I found out that we had won. We purchase tickets together every month, so it was a wonderful feeling to finally receive the good news.” The excitement of winning the draw is not just for him; he plans to share the Dh500,000 prize evenly amongst his friends, demonstrating the spirit of camaraderie and shared dreams. Kulwant aims to direct his portion of the prize towards his family and invest in their home, showing that his heart remains firmly focused on his loved ones.

Heartwarming Wins Among Indian Expats

In the same draw, another Indian expat, Muhammed Ijas C., a 30-year-old engineer from Kerala, won Dh100,000 (around ₹26 lakh). Living in Ajman with his family for seven years, Muhammed chose a number reflecting his son’s birthday, making the win particularly special. He learned about Big Ticket through social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube approximately six months ago and has been participating with a group of ten ever since.

“It was one of the most special moments for me. I had chosen the number based on my son’s birthday, so finding out that we had won made it even more meaningful,” Muhammed said. Like Kulwant, he intends to share the prize with his group and plans to dedicate his share to his son’s future, highlighting the familial bonds that drive many players in this lottery.

Furthermore, Setvan Kumar Chauhan also scored Dh100,000 in the recent draw, further adding to the winning spirit among expatriates. Ajith Kumar Vannarath, a 54-year-old document controller from Kerala, who has lived in Oman for a decade, won Dh250,000 (approximately ₹65 lakh). Ajith has been a participant in Big Ticket for nearly ten years and typically buys tickets as part of a group.

A Community of Luck and Dreams

Ajith’s group, which comprises ten individuals, utilized a randomly selected ticket for their latest entry. Upon learning of their win, he expressed, “I was very, very happy when I found out that we had won. We have been trying our luck together for a long time, so receiving that news was a wonderful feeling.” Although he hasn’t finalized how he will use his share, Ajith has the same commitment to continuing his participation in future draws as others in his community.

According to Gulf News, the latest draw has illuminated the lives of five Indian expats who together won a staggering Dh1.95 million (approximately ₹5 crore) in consolation prizes. These wins encapsulate the collective excitement and dreams that resonate among the expatriate community in the UAE, proving that sometimes, hope and perseverance pay off in unexpected and life-changing ways.
