Dubai has been recognized for its high standards of happiness, social integration, and overall quality of life. According to the recent Social Survey published by the Community Development Authority (CDA), an impressive 95% of residents consider Dubai their ideal place to live.

Key Insights from the Social Survey

The eighth iteration of the Social Survey (2024–2025) indicates notable advancements in social development throughout the emirate. The report reflects significant improvements in areas like well-being, family unity, and digital accessibility, all of which align with the Dubai Social Agenda 33’s targets. The survey stands as an essential benchmark for societal indicators, revealing that Dubai’s average happiness score hit 8.6, with overall life satisfaction rated at an impressive 8.72 out of 10.

Public trust levels are also remarkably high, with nearly all respondents expressing satisfaction with life in Dubai. Safety and religious freedom emerged as primary reasons for this preference. The survey generated a strong sense of pride among residents, with 96.4% stating they feel proud to call Dubai home. Additionally, the happiness index for senior citizens reached 86.8%, showcasing the city’s commitment to inclusivity across all demographics.

Family and Community Engagement

The report also highlighted a Family Bond Index of 95.3%, underscoring the crucial role of familial relationships in the social fabric of the community. This finding resonates with ongoing initiatives such as the “Year of the Family.” Levels of social support remain robust, with 84% of residents affirming they have someone they can depend on when necessary. Volunteerism has notably increased, from 8.4% to 13.2%, indicating a rising culture of social responsibility and community engagement.

Inclusivity is further emphasized as over 90% of People of Determination reported feeling integrated into Dubai society. Moreover, more than 90% confirmed access to both educational opportunities and essential services. Community interactions have also seen a surge; awareness about Community Majalis among Emiratis climbed from 87% in 2022 to 92.6% in 2024, with attendance growing by 47% between 2019 and 2024.

Financial Empowerment and Connectivity

The survey also delves into the financial well-being of residents. A key finding shows that 30.3% of Emiratis are borrowing to start their businesses, reflecting a burgeoning entrepreneurial spirit and a shift towards financial self-sufficiency. Connectivity stands out as a strong point for Dubai, with 98.6% of residents reporting internet access at home, emphasizing the emirate’s advanced digital landscape.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority, stated, “The results from this eighth cycle reinforce that Dubai is steadily moving toward its development objectives, prioritizing people and families. This focus not only enhances quality of life but also strengthens societal stability, aligning with the Dubai Social Agenda 33.”

The survey encompasses a range of seven pillars, including quality of life, family cohesion, social inclusion, and digital engagement, offering a well-rounded view of societal dynamics. Enhanced methods and the creation of an interactive dashboard are set to advance data accuracy and accessibility, thereby supporting evidence-based policymaking and sustainable social development.
