Dubai to Highlight Tourism Ecosystem at ATM 2026 Event

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) is set to take the lead at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) happening from September 14 to 17 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This annual event serves as a significant occasion for the global travel industry, providing a vital stage for showcasing Dubai’s tourism aspirations amidst a period of renewed growth and investment.

Importance of the Arabian Travel Market for Dubai

The ATM plays a pivotal role in establishing the direction of the tourism industry in Dubai. It highlights the emirate’s commitment to a collaborative public-private approach in tourism development. As part of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, the event reinforces Dubai’s status as a premier destination for both business and leisure, establishing a meeting point for the international travel community. The participation of around 115 co-exhibitors, including hotels, tour operators, and various public and private entities, showcases the spirit of cooperation that is integral to Dubai’s tourism strategy.

Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, emphasized the significance of the ATM. He noted that the event serves as a gathering for the global travel community, reflecting a shared vision aimed at fostering business opportunities and innovation in tourism. Kazim expressed gratitude towards both public and private sector partners for their continued collaboration, highlighting that events like ATM are integral in accelerating progress in Dubai’s visitor economy.

Hosted Buyers Programme: Building Relationships

A central component of DET’s strategy this year is the Hosted Buyers Programme, which will welcome over 300 professionals from 40 different countries. This initiative aims to marry strategic business goals with immersive experiences, giving participating buyers a firsthand look at Dubai’s hospitality beyond the exhibition environment. Such engagement fosters lasting relationships that extend well beyond the event itself, reinforcing Dubai’s role as a hub for global travel professionals.

In addition to facilitating connections, DET will share valuable insights into various developments that are shaping Dubai’s tourism landscape. Among these is the announcement of a new AED 128 billion passenger terminal at Dubai World Central, along with updates on the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which includes key projects like the Palm Jebel Ali master plan and Hatta Development Plan. These initiatives are designed not only to elevate the visitor experience but also to create fresh opportunities for the global travel market.

Showcasing Cultural and Culinary Diversity

The Dubai stand at ATM will not only focus on business but also celebrate the rich cultural and culinary landscape of the emirate. Collaborating with Dubai Culture, the stand will feature artworks by Emirati artist Mariam Abbas, offering a glimpse into Dubai’s vibrant art scene. Additionally, visitors will have the chance to indulge in local flavors, with offerings from brands such as Karam Coffee and Camelicious, highlighting the evolving culinary identity of the region.

In the lead-up to ATM 2026, DET has kept the momentum going by engaging with stakeholders through events like the city briefing held in June, which brought together over 1,700 leaders from Dubai’s tourism sector. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to establish Dubai as a preferred global destination, guided by the ambitions outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.

As DET continues to focus on collaborative and sustainable growth in the tourism sector, its presence at ATM serves as a testament to Dubai’s ongoing commitment to becoming a leading global city for business and leisure. With its engaging programming and a wide array of partners, DET is poised to shape the future of tourism in Dubai effectively. Visitors can find DET and its partners at Stand ME1120/ME1150 in Sheikh Saeed Hall 1, making it a must-visit destination during the Arabian Travel Market.
