The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism has rolled out an enticing initiative called ‘A Dubai Invite,’ designed to promote local tourism. According to Dubai’s media office, the program is set to run through the end of October. From July 20 until October 31, residents who wish to invite friends and family can easily nominate them through the official government website. This user-friendly approach aims to foster a closer connection among residents and their visitors, bolstering community ties while simultaneously rejuvenating the tourism sector. Summer is typically a low season for travel in the United Arab Emirates, partly due to soaring temperatures that can reach as high as 50°C. However, this initiative seeks to boost local visitation during this challenging period.

Impact of Regional Tensions on Tourism

Dubai is renowned for its allure, attracting around 19.5 million tourists each year. However, the ongoing regional conflict, particularly the escalation of tensions between the US and Iran, has clouded perceptions of safety in the area. Earlier, a separate $270 million package had already been initiated to assist families and local commerce.
