Dubai Program Enhances Skills in Tourism and Economic Content Creation

The Dubai Content Creators Programme, organized by the Dubai Press Club (DPC) in partnership with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), recently marked the completion of its first week aimed at enhancing skills in tourism and economic content production. With a focus on innovative storytelling, participants engaged in a variety of workshops designed to refine their abilities in digital content creation that reflects the vibrant narrative of Dubai.

Specialized Workshops for Skill Development

The initial week included diverse sessions that provided participants with essential skills in crucial areas such as storytelling, filming, editing, and digital publishing. The aim was to deepen their comprehension of both the professional and legal aspects of content creation. The training is pivotal in preparing content creators to generate high-quality materials that resonate with Dubai’s standing as a premier global hub for tourism and business opportunities.

A noteworthy session titled “Regulations Every Content Creator Must Be Aware of,” led by the National Media Authority, informed participants about the legal frameworks surrounding digital content. This included guidelines on filming protocols, privacy policies, media licensing, intellectual property rights, and distinguishing personal content from promotional material. Understanding these regulations is essential for content creators to operate within the legal boundaries of the media landscape.

Innovative Storytelling Techniques

Another compelling workshop, “Story Mining: Finding Unconventional Tourism and Economic Angles,” facilitated by Al Mashhad, focused on modern digital journalism’s research and editorial methods. Participants were encouraged to unearth unique narratives by analyzing economic data and local attractions, ultimately learning to craft stories that would appeal to both local and global audiences.

The session “Tourism and Marketing Content: Dubai’s Figures in Moniify’s Language,” presented by Moniify, revolved around transforming economic and tourism statistics into engaging visual content. Attendees learned how to develop fact-based narratives that align Dubai’s achievements with visitor experiences, which is essential in today’s content-driven ecosystem.

Enhancing Presentation Skills

To further augment these acquired skills, a session titled “From the Hook to the Concluding Scene,” delivered by blinx, took participants through the nuances of modern digital storytelling. This workshop emphasized strategic elements such as capturing attention instantly, crafting coherent narratives, and delivering impactful conclusions, supplemented with visual effects and engaging text.

The week culminated in a workshop on proficient presentation and public speaking led by The National. This session focused on boosting participants’ confidence on camera, covering essential skills like body language, voice modulation, and eye contact. Participants were also trained to navigate unexpected situations that may arise during location shoots and interviews.

Wedad Kahour, Head of Media Talent Development at DPC, expressed that the session’s practical nature enriched participants with a better grasp of tourism and economic content creation essentials. By bridging the gap between idea generation and digital storytelling, her team aims to facilitate the production of sophisticated content that meets professional and legal standards.

The Dubai Content Creators Programme will continue into its second week, introducing more workshops that will delve into storytelling techniques, on-camera performances, and visual production. The overarching goal remains to equip participants with the tools to craft exceptional economic and tourism content that underscores Dubai’s role in the global market while adapting to the fast-changing digital landscape.
