Dubai Press Club initiates next stage of Content Creators Program for tourism and economy.
The Dubai Content Creators Programme, a collaboration between the Dubai Press Club and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, has recently launched a new phase dedicated to enhancing digital storytelling and content production. This initiative, which comprises 40 hours of specialized training, aims to arm content creators with the crucial skills necessary to produce high-quality, engaging content that highlights Dubai’s stature as a premier global destination for both business and tourism.
Enhancing Skills for Digital Storytelling
The latest phase of the programme responds to the rapid changes in the digital media landscape. With digital content increasingly becoming a significant tool for audience engagement, this initiative aims to sharpen participants’ skills in storytelling, filming, editing, and digital publishing. The focus is to cultivate a deeper understanding of Dubai’s economic and tourism sectors, enabling creators to produce content that resonates with audiences while showcasing Dubai as a vibrant global hub.
Maryam Al Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club, emphasized the program’s role in empowering content creators. She stated, “This new phase reflects our desire to develop the expertise of creators, arming them with practical tools to develop specialized digital content that accurately reflects Dubai’s global relevance.” Her remarks underline the importance of sharing Dubai’s narrative, which has evolved through its journey towards a diversified economy and a robust tourism sector.
The Importance of Content Creation in Tourism
Aida Al Busaidy, Vice President at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, remarked on the significance of investing in digital content creation. “Enhancing Dubai’s appeal through compelling content helps solidify its status as a leading global destination for business and tourism,” she noted. This initiative aligns with a broader marketing strategy that has been in place for over a decade, focusing on collaboration with content creators to effectively communicate Dubai’s unique offerings to a global audience.
The programme offers an essential platform for creators to learn vital skills, such as storytelling grounded in creativity and authenticity. The curriculum covers every aspect of digital content production—ranging from storytelling techniques to advanced graphic design. Participants will also delve into audience engagement tactics and data analytics, which are crucial in today’s digital era.
Workshops on Ethical Tourism Promotion
The programme kicked off with sessions focused on Dubai’s vision as a model for economic and tourism diversification. Participants discussed the role of content creators in communicating this vision while exploring Dubai’s success in fostering a diversified economy. A specialized workshop on “Tourism Promotion Guide: Standards, Ethics, and Responsibility” was also part of the launch, facilitated by the Dubai College of Tourism. This workshop introduced best practices for promoting Dubai as a world-class tourist destination, addressing ethical engagement and respect for cultural diversity.
The workshop highlighted the importance of presenting Dubai’s diverse culture and hospitality values in a positive light, ensuring that creators understand professional conduct and ethical standards in tourism. It emphasized transparency in tourism partnerships and sponsorships, equipping participants to enhance Dubai’s reputation through credible and engaging content.
By investing in the capabilities of content creators through such initiatives, Dubai aims to not only enhance its digital content landscape but also contribute to the growth of a creative economy. As the global digital narrative continues to evolve, this programme holds significant promise in shaping how Dubai is perceived worldwide, ensuring that its story is told with accuracy, creativity, and cultural awareness.
