Dubai’s Real Estate Developments Soar 52% to Dh100 Billion in H1 2026
Dubai’s property sector is thriving, with impressive growth recorded in the first half of 2026. With approximately 104 real estate projects launched, valued at over Dh100 billion, there’s been a remarkable 52 percent increase in project value compared to the previous year. This continued expansion highlights the emirate’s commitment to attracting long-term investment and enhancing its property market.
Significant Supply of New Real Estate Units
The recent data reveals that Dubai added more than 24,000 new real estate units in just six months, marking a 36 percent year-on-year increase. These figures, presented by officials from the Dubai Land Department at the recent Rise Summit 2026, demonstrate the emirate’s ongoing development and investment potential. Omar Bu Shehab, the Director General of the Dubai Land Department, emphasized the importance of real estate in supporting Dubai’s long-term economic vision. The strategic focus on advanced infrastructure and collaborative public-private partnerships continues to yield positive results for investors and residents alike.
This growth aligns closely with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040, which are designed to boost economic competitiveness, foster urban development, and enhance the city’s attractiveness to investors. Bu Shehab pointed out that the upcoming phase holds even greater opportunities for cooperation between government and private sectors, ultimately aiming to deliver sustained economic value and developmental initiatives within communities.
Real Estate Transaction Milestones
Dubai witnessed an impressive Dh917 billion in real estate transactions in 2025, facilitated by more than 270,000 transactions. Majid Sager Al Marri, CEO of Corporate Support and Real Estate Promotion at the Dubai Land Department, shared these insights during a discussion at the Rise Summit. He noted that the rental market also saw substantial activity, accumulating over one million rental transactions valued at roughly Dh100 billion.
As projects continue to proliferate, Al Marri revealed that the first half of 2026 alone recorded an increase in project count, with over 150 projects now underway. These projects cover around one million square meters, signifying a 100 percent growth from the previous year, showcasing Dubai’s unrelenting pursuit of real estate development.
Innovations in Property Transactions
To further streamline the real estate process, Dubai is embracing artificial intelligence technology, significantly reducing the time required for property transactions. Al Marri discussed a new initiative that allows developers and investors to obtain their initial sale contracts almost instantaneously, a stark contrast to the lengthy processes of the past. This innovation is part of a broader commitment by the Dubai Land Department to digitize and simplify the property transaction experience for all stakeholders involved.
Additionally, the First-Time Home Buyer initiative is designed to facilitate residents entering the market by providing various advantages from banks and developers. Collaboratively launched with the Department of Economy and Tourism, the initiative has already aided over 3,200 first-time buyers in its inaugural year, generating transactions valued at Dh5 billion.
International Outreach Efforts
To complement its local initiatives, the Dubai Land Department is expanding its international outreach strategies through various roadshows and events targeting potential investors. Future activities include trips to India and a conference with brokers in the United States, aimed at positioning Dubai as a premier investment destination.
These proactive measures reflect a broader strategy to sustain a vibrant real estate market through digital transformation, inclusive homeownership programs, and robust international engagement. By fostering an environment that celebrates growth and accessibility, Dubai solidifies its role as a dynamic hub for real estate investment.
