Dubai Press Club unveils new ‘Content Creators Programme’ for tourism and economy.

The Dubai Press Club (DPC) recently joined forces with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) to unveil a new phase of the “Dubai Content Creators Programme.” This initiative places a strong emphasis on enhancing skills related to tourism and the economy, aiming to empower content creators with the tools necessary for effective storytelling and high-quality digital content production.

Enhancing Skills for a Dynamic Digital Landscape

This latest phase of the programme responds to Dubai’s rapid development as a leading global economic and tourism hub. Recognizing the critical role of digital content in attracting and engaging audiences, the initiative focuses on developing practical skills for participants. It aims to deepen their understanding of both the tourism and economic sectors in Dubai, equipping them to produce content that resonates with various audiences and showcases the emirate’s unique offerings.

Maryam Al Mulla, the Director of DPC, emphasized the importance of collaboration between DPC and DET in this endeavour. She stated, “This new phase reflects our ongoing efforts to foster the skills of content creators and equip them with essential tools for producing specialized digital content.” According to her, Dubai’s transformative journey towards a diversified economy and its status as a world-class tourism destination provide rich storytelling opportunities that should be shared globally.

The Significance of Content Creation in Dubai

Aida Al Busaidy, Vice President of Consumer Advocacy and Social at DET, reinforced the value of investment in digital content creation. She pointed out that enhancing Dubai’s competitiveness in the global market relies heavily on how effectively the city can communicate its narrative. The partnership with DPC through the “Dubai Content Creators Programme” underscores the essential role that creators play in shaping perceptions of the city and translating experiences into compelling stories that resonate across international boundaries.

Al Busaidy further noted, “As creators evolve, so does our commitment to investing in their future. This aligns with the goals outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.” Providing creators with the necessary knowledge and creative tools not only enhances their capabilities but also contributes to the broader creative economy in Dubai, fostering an environment where innovation and creativity thrive.

A Comprehensive Training Experience

The two-week programme comprises 40 hours of comprehensive training, working collaboratively with notable regional and international media outlets and academic institutions. Participants will engage in various stages of digital content production, covering areas from storytelling and creative writing to filming, lighting, editing, and graphic design. They will also learn how to leverage artificial intelligence to elevate their digital content, explore audience engagement strategies, and analyze data analytics.

The launch of this initiative included a session that delved into Dubai’s vision as a paragon of innovation and economic diversity. It spotlighted the impact of content creators in communicating this vision, illustrating Dubai’s success in cultivating a diversified economy and exceptional tourism experiences. The opening day also featured a specialized workshop by Dubai College of Tourism, focused on the ethical standards and responsibilities involved in promoting Dubai as a global tourism destination, touching on vital topics such as cultural diversity and responsible engagement.

Overall, the “Dubai Content Creators Programme” seeks not just to train participants but also to enhance Dubai’s reputation and allure. Through engaging and credible content that reflects the city’s values of tolerance and hospitality, the initiative aims to showcase the emirate’s attractions effectively, ensuring that its narrative resonates both locally and globally.
