Dubai-based firm outperforms OpenAI, rivals in enterprise AI evaluation

A UAE-based artificial intelligence firm has made significant strides in the tech landscape by surpassing global giants in a recent benchmark test. AHOY Labs, located in Dubai, has demonstrated its advanced AI capabilities, particularly in the realm of enterprise data management.

Remarkable Performance in AI Benchmarking

AHOY Labs reported an impressive performance in the EnterpriseRAG-Bench, a public, open-source evaluation platform designed to measure the effectiveness of AI systems in searching, retrieving, and verifying information within enterprise datasets. AHOY Labs achieved an overall score of 74.95, placing it eighth among 26 systems evaluated globally. Notably, its platform outperformed competitors like OpenAI, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and NVIDIA.

The benchmark simulates corporate environments by utilizing a comprehensive archive containing 500,000 records, including an array of documents like emails, chat logs, and meeting transcripts. Such a wide-ranging dataset facilitated a thorough assessment of how AI models handle various challenges, including locating information dispersed across multiple documents and addressing conflicting records. AHOY Labs managed to correctly respond to 79.6% of questions posed during the evaluation—a significant achievement compared to other contenders: OpenAI’s File Search scored 61.03 with a 69.8% accuracy rate, while Microsoft’s Azure AI Search and Google’s Vertex AI Search obtained lower scores.

Precision That Sets AHOY Apart

One of the standout features of AHOY Labs was its precision in delivering relevant information. The platform averaged just 1.03 irrelevant documents per response, which starkly contrasts with OpenAI’s File Search, which returned an average of 15.7 irrelevant documents. This precise performance highlights the effectiveness of AHOY’s technology and the company’s commitment to providing reliable AI solutions.

Jamil Shinawi, the founder and CEO of AHOY, emphasized the importance of maintaining data sovereignty without sacrificing performance. He stated, “We built AHOY to prove that sovereignty and world-class performance are not a trade-off.” This statement showcases the firm’s ambition and the critical advantages its technology offers, particularly in regions where data privacy and ownership are paramount.

Enterprise AI Solutions for Sensitive Sectors

AHOY Labs’ AI platform is designed to operate entirely on a customer’s infrastructure, enabling organizations to maintain control over sensitive data. This capability is particularly beneficial for industries such as government, defense, healthcare, and energy, where stringent data sovereignty requirements often restrict the use of public cloud solutions. AHOY Labs argues that its platform is the highest-ranked sovereign AI system on the EnterpriseRAG-Bench leaderboard, reflecting its commitment to data security.

The EnterpriseRAG-Bench itself was developed by Onyx and is supported by a research paper detailing its methodology. Results are meticulously reviewed before being published on the public leaderboard, ensuring transparency and reliability in AI benchmarking.

In summary, AHOY Labs is carving a niche for itself in the AI landscape, exhibiting exceptional performance and precision in enterprise applications. As businesses increasingly seek effective solutions for managing vast amounts of internal data, AHOY’s technology offers a promising avenue for maintaining control and achieving accurate results.
