Emirates Introduces Historic Dubai–Helsinki Flight Using A350
Emirates has made a significant move by introducing its inaugural flight connecting Dubai to Helsinki, marking Finland’s only year-round direct air service to the United Arab Emirates. This new route aims to enhance travel options for both leisure and business travelers, providing an efficient link between two vibrant regions.
Helsinki Joins the Emirates Network
The launch of this daily service enhances connectivity not just between Dubai and Helsinki, but also opens up nearly 140 destinations worldwide within Emirates’ extensive network. Passengers can now enjoy seamless connections to popular locales across Asia, Africa, the Indian Ocean, as well as Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East. This modernization in air travel allows Finnish travelers an efficient one-stop option, eliminating the need to transit through other European or Nordic hubs.
With the Airbus A350 in operation, this new route can accommodate 298 passengers across its Business, Premium Economy, and Economy classes. The A350, known for its advanced technology and increased efficiency, brings an elevated travel experience to customers.
Introducing Premium Economy to Finland
One of the highlights of this service is the introduction of Emirates’ Premium Economy offering in Finland. Alongside traditional Business and Economy Class, this class aims to provide an enhanced travel experience that meets the diverse needs of modern travelers. Emirates has curated in-flight dining menus featuring Finnish-inspired delicacies such as juniper-marinated salmon and lingonberry marble cheesecake, adding cultural touchpoints for passengers flying from Finland.
In addition, Emirates will promote travel through its Skywards loyalty program. Eligible travelers taking advantage of the Cash+Miles option can enjoy a unique conversion rate for bookings made by the end of October. Furthermore, Skywards members will have the opportunity to earn double Miles on qualifying trips to Helsinki during the promotional launch period, making it even more rewarding to fly with Emirates.
Expanding Cargo Opportunities
Beyond passenger travel, this new route significantly enhances cargo capacity between Finland and the Gulf region. Emirates SkyCargo will offer up to 16 tonnes of cargo space on every flight, allowing for the transport of various goods, including pharmaceuticals, electronics, machinery, timber, and perishable items. With Dubai acting as a pivotal hub for these markets, businesses can leverage this new service to expand their reach globally.
Finland’s economic relationship with the UAE has been growing, with the UAE being Finland’s largest trading partner in the Gulf region. This new flight not only strengthens business ties but also supports tourism, adding a layer of importance to the route alongside its passenger services. With the successful launch of EK167, Emirates is seizing the opportunity to further establish its presence in the Nordic region, embarking on this new chapter in air travel between Dubai and Helsinki.
