Dubai’s ATM 2026 Unveils Travel 2040 Theme and Innovations
The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026 kicked off on September 14 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, gathering professionals from around the world for a vibrant four-day event filled with networking, commerce, and knowledge sharing. With an agenda that stretches from September 14 to 17, this year’s gathering comes at a pivotal moment for the global tourism sector, which is navigating the aftermath of recent challenges.
Exploring the Theme of Travel 2040
Under the banner of “Travel 2040: Driving New Frontiers Through Innovation and Technology,” this year’s ATM aims to delve into the key influences reshaping the tourism landscape. Central topics will include the integration of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, evolving traveler expectations, destination resilience, smart mobility, and sustainable growth strategies.
Danielle Curtis, the Regional Portfolio Director for UAE at RX Global, expressed her excitement about welcoming the global travel and tourism community back to Dubai. She highlighted the significance of this year’s event, not just for its focus on innovation but also for the launch of ATM Travel Tech—a new feature designed to showcase the latest in travel technology. Curtis noted that the recent challenges faced by the industry underline the importance of bringing the community together to foster valuable conversations and partnerships that can pave the way for future opportunities.
The Launch of ATM Travel Tech
Technology takes center stage this year with the introduction of ATM Travel Tech, which is set to feature over 180 exhibitors from 30 countries. This dedicated area will bridge the gap between tech innovators and industry leaders, focusing on digital solutions that are redefining the travel landscape.
One of the highlights will be the 850-square-meter Tech & Innovation Hub, showcasing advancements in areas like artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, robotics, fintech, and eco-friendly technologies. Attendees can look forward to the Future Stage, where experts will discuss pressing issues including automation, immersive technology, and the next generation of travel platforms. Kicking off the discussions, Dr. Marwan Alzarouni, CEO of AI at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, will examine the transformative role of AI in the travel sector. Senior representatives from notable companies such as Sabre, Trip.com, and Visa will also contribute insights into various aspects of the evolving travel ecosystem.
A Platform for Knowledge Sharing
Knowledge exchange remains a cornerstone of the ATM, with the Global Stage and Experience Hub set to welcome a diverse array of stakeholders—tourism leaders, policymakers, and tech specialists—over the four days of programming.
The event will commence with a Ministerial Debate titled “Building A Resilient Industry Through Collaboration,” featuring high-profile speakers who will discuss strategies to rebuild traveler confidence in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and enhance its global tourism reputation. The line-up includes representatives from the UAE government, UN tourism officials, and experts from Bahrain. Additionally, research firms such as Tourism Economics and Euromonitor International will provide valuable insights into the changing market dynamics and opportunities for growth.
Curtis emphasized that the future for travel and tourism is bright. Ongoing research indicates a resilient demand for travel, while innovation is opening new avenues for destinations to meet evolving traveler needs.
A New Identity for ATM 2026
Another key highlight of ATM 2026 is the unveiling of a refreshed brand identity that reflects the event’s transition from a traditional exhibition to a dynamic, year-round platform. This new identity aims to connect communities, foster ideas, and create commercial opportunities within the global travel and tourism ecosystem.
As the 33rd edition of the Arabian Travel Market, this event remains a crucial hub for the international travel and tourism industry. It serves as a vital space for forging collaborations, sharing knowledge, and identifying new business avenues, ensuring its place as a cornerstone of global tourism dialogue.
