XPANCEO celebrates Dubai’s youngest pioneers in deep tech.
In June, a remarkable event took place in Dubai as 160 students celebrated their graduation from the TKS Dubai innovation program at the iconic Museum of the Future. This program showcases the city’s commitment to nurturing young talent, and one notable contributor to this journey has been XPANCEO, a pioneering deep tech company in the GCC.
Introducing TKS Dubai: A Pathway for Young Innovators
The TKS Dubai program is an immersive 10-month initiative aimed at high-potential students aged between 13 and 17. Designed in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation, this program positions Dubai as a global hub for innovation and creativity among youth. As one of the industry partners, XPANCEO played a crucial role in enhancing the students’ learning experiences throughout their journey.
Deep Tech Engagements: A Learning Experience
During the program, XPANCEO involved the student cohort in a series of engaging activities that provided insights into the deep tech landscape. Dr. Valentyn Volkov, the founder and CTO, initiated this experience with a lecture focused on innovative materials, which serve as the essential foundation for wearable technology like smart contact lenses. Students were challenged with a thought-provoking question: where could smart contact lenses find their first application? The teams proposed various imaginative concepts, from enhancing astronauts’ vision in space to supporting athletic recovery.
Further enriching their understanding, the students were invited to tour XPANCEO’s research and development laboratory located in Dubai Internet City. This hands-on exploration allowed them to engage with researchers and gain insights directly from the company’s leadership. The program concluded with the TKS Dubai Showcase, featuring a fireside chat with Dr. Volkov, who provided additional expert perspectives.
Building the Future Together
For XPANCEO, this collaboration underscores a deep-seated belief in fostering innovation alongside the next generation of thinkers and creators. Their active participation helps to cultivate a rich educational ecosystem in Dubai, which already includes prominent institutions such as the University of Dubai and Khalifa University. This partnership aligns well with the Dubai Future Foundation’s broader mission of nurturing future-ready talent.
In Dr. Volkov’s words, “This partnership matters because the innovators of tomorrow are in school today. Meeting them early allows us to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.” His reflection on the students’ genuine curiosity highlights the potential of this generation to shape the future of technology.
TKS Dubai’s Program Director, Sahil Arora, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the program’s design centers around direct collaboration with real-world challenges faced by companies like XPANCEO. Rather than working on hypothetical scenarios, students confront actual strategic questions, cultivating the judgment and confidence essential for future leaders in uncharted fields.
As Dubai continues to expand its horizons in technology and innovation, initiatives like TKS Dubai will play a critical role in shaping a thriving community of young innovators ready to lead. By fostering such partnerships, we not only empower the next generation but also contribute meaningfully to the future landscape of the tech industry globally.
