By advocating a collection of initiatives aimed at fast-tracking AI implementation, Sheikh Hamdan is reinforcing Dubai’s vision to cultivate a robust digital economy.

Expanding AI in Dubai’s Private Sector

During the latest meeting of the Higher Committee for Future Technology Development and the Digital Economy, Sheikh Hamdan assessed a strategic plan that focuses on integrating Agentic AI throughout Dubai’s private sector. This ambitious initiative aims to support approximately 295,000 businesses, with a target of developing 100 specialized AI assistants over the next two years. Additionally, the plan envisions the establishment of 50 new companies centered around AI technologies. Sheikh Hamdan remarked that AI is generating new economic prospects and bolstering competitiveness among businesses, as Dubai aspires to become a leading hub for advanced AI solutions.

Global Events and Strategic Projects

As part of his commitment to enhancing Dubai’s standing as a tech hub, Sheikh Hamdan has also green-lighted the city’s hosting of the 50th International Collegiate Programming Contest World Finals, an esteemed global student programming competition. Scheduled for November 16 to 20, 2026, this significant event will attract 140 teams from over 70 countries, showcasing the emirate’s capacity to host large-scale international gatherings.

The committee also laid out several strategic projects that promise to further propel Dubai’s digital economy. One such initiative is the Dubai Global Talent Network, which aims to attract and connect international expertise. Another notable project involves a new Digital Twin System for Dubai Police, utilizing cutting-edge technology to enhance surveillance and aid in real-time decision-making.

Progress on Digital Economy Initiatives

The meeting also included updates on various digital economy initiatives, prominently featuring a partnership with Amazon that has successfully assisted over 105,000 small and medium-sized enterprises in enhancing their digital trade capabilities. Additionally, the progress of key projects like the Ignyte entrepreneurship platform, the Dubai AI Campus, the Dubai PropTech Hub, and Dubai Founders HQ was discussed. Remarkably, Dubai Founders HQ has already attracted more than 1,100 members and 500 startups within just nine months of its launch, underscoring the emirate’s burgeoning entrepreneurial ecosystem.
