EHRDC and DIFC Introduce Program for Emirati Talent in Finance

The Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) has unveiled a pivotal initiative designed to bolster the role of Emirati talent in key financial sectors. The Emirati Talent Empowerment Programme is a collaborative effort with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Emirates Institute of Finance, and Emirates NBD, aimed at enhancing participation in wealth management and financial technology (FinTech).

Strengthening Financial Services Talent

This programme is a testament to DIFC’s commitment to fostering financial services talent, leveraging its status as the leading global financial hub and innovation ecosystem. By establishing partnerships and accessing global institutions, DIFC facilitates training, exposure, and employment opportunities that align with Dubai’s localization goals and Economic Agenda (D33). The collaboration underscores the importance of developing a skilled workforce capable of navigating and excelling in complex financial services.

Moreover, the initiative supports the ‘Dubai Ambition’ framework, introduced at the Dubai Emiratisation Forum. This ambitious plan aims to create awareness among 10,000 students, extend training opportunities to a similar number of Emirati students and graduates, and secure positions for 5,000 Emiratis in the private sector by 2026, concentrating on emerging and high-growth industries.

A Vision for Sustainable Career Opportunities

His Excellency Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of the EHRDC, articulated the program’s significance, stating that it serves as a practical step towards enhancing the representation of national talent in advanced financial sectors. He emphasized the initiative’s role in providing specialized training that meets current labor market demands, thus ensuring that Emiratis can transition smoothly from education to employment. This direct alignment with Dubai’s Economic Agenda (D33) aims to cultivate qualified Emirati talent ready to thrive in wealth management and FinTech arenas.

DIFC’s Governor, His Excellency Essa Kazim, echoed this commitment by highlighting the program’s objective to empower UAE Nationals to become leaders in financial services. By fostering clear career paths and opportunities, the Emirati Talent Empowerment Programme equips local talent with skills that match market demands, further propelling Dubai toward its goal of becoming one of the world’s top financial centers.

Program Structure and Collaborative Efforts

The Emirati Talent Empowerment Programme consists of two tailored tracks. The Wealth Strategist Programme prepares Emirati participants for specialized positions in private banking and wealth management, drawing on the expertise of leading financial institutions. Meanwhile, the National FinTech Programme focuses on providing exposure to burgeoning FinTech fields, promoting the development of innovative skills that meet current market needs.

The first cohort of the initiative will assist around 15 Emirati job seekers through an integrated approach that includes technical training, professional certifications, and essential workplace skills. Over two months at the Emirates Institute of Finance, participants will engage in a hands-on learning experience that blends theory with practical industry involvement, enhancing their employability.

Prominent organizations such as Emirates NBD, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), J.P. Morgan, and others are participating in this comprehensive initiative. Their collaboration signifies a unified commitment to advancing Emiratisation and nurturing national talent within wealth management and FinTech sectors.

With such strategic partnerships and focused training programs, the Emirati Talent Empowerment Programme stands to significantly impact the future of Dubai’s financial landscape, fostering a new generation of skilled professionals ready to take on vital roles.
