Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) has recently celebrated a significant achievement with the conclusion of the third cohort of the MIT DesignX Dubai Accelerator Program. This initiative, a partnership between DSO, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and the Global Growth Hub (GGH), aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the heart of Dubai. Highlights of the Program

The third cohort featured 11 innovative startups, meticulously selected through a rigorous application process. Nearly 50% of these startups hail from outside the UAE and are involved in various sectors such as artificial intelligence, healthcare, sustainable materials, and workforce technologies. Throughout this initial phase, participants engaged in a series of intensive workshops and mentorship sessions led by experts from MITdesignX. They also benefited from the valuable support of MIT student interns and the Global Growth Hub, allowing them to gain structured guidance and make essential connections within Dubai’s vibrant innovation ecosystem.

A key highlight of the Demo Day was the announcement of AED100,000 in equity-free funding awarded to the top three startups. Katrix, which specializes in AI perception for autonomous systems, Wellmatix, an AI platform for sustainable materials research, and Nashid, which focuses on workforce verification compliance, were recognized for their groundbreaking contributions. Additionally, Apollo Medica and The B.E. Story were acknowledged for their impactful innovations, receiving one-year business setup packages at DSO.
