The 2024-2025 Social Survey results from Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA) highlight remarkable trends in resident satisfaction and well-being across the emirate. This comprehensive assessment reveals that a significant majority of residents, approximately 95 percent, view Dubai as their top choice for living, primarily due to its safe environment and religious freedom. Such factors showcase the ongoing public trust and community support essential for societal growth.

Average Happiness Score Reflects Positive Trends

The survey results indicate a notable uplift in happiness levels among residents, with the average happiness rating standing at 8.6 out of 10 and overall life satisfaction at 8.72. Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the CDA, emphasized that this survey acts as a strategic resource for understanding societal trends and addressing future needs. She noted that the data-driven approach enables the development of social policies that truly serve the populace, prioritizing the well-being of families and individuals.

She remarked, “The results of the eighth cycle confirm that Dubai is steadily progressing towards its development goals, with a focus on enhancing the quality of life and societal stability.” The survey encompasses seven key pillars, including quality of life, family cohesion, and social well-being, which collectively offer an in-depth view of life in Dubai. An overwhelming 96.4 percent of residents expressed pride in living in Dubai, showcasing the strength of the emirate’s inclusive social framework.

Family and Community Cohesion Strengthened

The Family Bond Index, a crucial indicator of social stability, achieved an impressive 95.3 percent. This statistic underscores the pivotal role families play in maintaining a cohesive society, a focus that resonates with Dubai’s ‘Year of the Family’ initiative. Furthermore, indicators of social solidarity and community involvement also showed positive signs, with 84 percent of participants reporting they have someone they can rely on during challenging times.

Additionally, volunteerism rates surged from 8.4 percent to 13.2 percent, demonstrating a thriving culture of community support and social responsibility. Nearly 90 percent of People of Determination reported feeling integrated within society, and respondents affirmed access to educational and essential services, reflecting an inclusive approach that benefits all community members.

Growing Entrepreneurial Spirit Among Residents

Community Majalis, crucial hubs for dialogue among Emiratis, have witnessed increased engagement. Awareness of their significance rose from 87 percent in 2022 to 92.6 percent in 2024, while attendance surged by 47 percent between 2019 and 2024. This rise illustrates the importance of these gatherings in fostering social ties and promoting communal values.

The findings also reveal that an increasing number of Emiratis view entrepreneurship as a path to financial independence, with 30.3 percent indicating that borrowing to start a business is a key motivation. Internet accessibility stands at 98.6 percent, reflecting exceptional connectivity and robust digital infrastructure across the emirate.
