Premium Economy class growth in India and Asia

Emirates has announced that its iconic Airbus A380 will be introducing an updated route to Delhi, significantly enhancing travel options for passengers. With both Premium Economy and a premium four-class configuration, this move represents a new level of comfort and service on flights between Dubai and the Indian capital.

Flight Services and Premium Economy Options

The A380 will operate on flights EK512 and EK513, while other daily services will continue using retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft equipped with Premium Economy. This change means travelers flying between Dubai and Delhi can now book Premium Economy on flights EK511, EK513, EK515, and EK517, thereby offering them a broader choice of premium seating options.

Expanding Asian Routes for the A380

Delhi will join an extensive A380 network across Asia, which currently includes major cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bangkok, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Notably, Bangkok ranks as one of the most frequently served destinations for this aircraft, with Emirates providing multiple daily flights. Other key destinations across Asia maintain daily services, although aircraft assignments can fluctuate seasonally or based on operational needs.

Experience on Emirates A380

The Emirates A380 can accommodate between 484 and 615 passengers, depending on its specific configuration. For the service to Delhi, the aircraft will feature First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class. Passengers traveling in Premium Economy will enjoy enhanced seating with cream leather, additional legroom, and improved recline, alongside meals served on elegant chinaware. Meanwhile, First-Class travelers can take advantage of private suites and onboard Shower Spas, and Business Class passengers benefit from flat-bed seats for a restful journey.

Designed for long-distance travel, the A380 can fly up to 15,000 kilometers and cruise at altitudes of 43,100 feet. With a length of 72.7 meters and a weight between 510 and 575 tons, this aircraft comprises approximately four million individual parts, demonstrating its complex engineering.

Premium Economy Expands in India

The introduction of Premium Economy on the Delhi route is part of a larger initiative to enhance Emirates’ services in India. By the end of October, passengers will find Premium Economy available on routes to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Kochi. Specifically, travelers can book this cabin class on four daily flights from Delhi, 22 weekly flights from Mumbai, and additional services from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Kochi.

Further expanding its offerings, Emirates will introduce its state-of-the-art A350 aircraft to Kolkata on October 25, taking over the existing Boeing 777 services. This transition will incorporate Premium Economy into all 12 weekly flights between Dubai and Kolkata, ensuring that travelers have access to enhanced comfort on every leg of their journey. Currently, Emirates serves nine cities across India, providing a robust 167 weekly flights to Dubai and onward connections to nearly 140 global destinations.

Overall, the enhancements to both the A380 services and the introduction of Premium Economy across key Indian cities underscores Emirates’ commitment to providing a superior travel experience, setting the stage for a new level of luxury and comfort for passengers flying between India and Dubai.
