The Economic Security Centre of Dubai (ESCD) has initiated a national awareness campaign aimed at curbing economic fraud, under the theme “Strong Economy… An Aware Society.” This initiative seeks to empower individuals, enterprises, and institutions by providing them with crucial information and strategies to identify and prevent fraudulent activities, particularly as such crimes evolve with advancements in technology like artificial intelligence and deepfake capabilities.

The core objective of this campaign is to enhance public knowledge, which officials deem vital for safeguarding the remarkable economic progress made in the UAE. Heightened awareness serves as the initial barrier against threats that could undermine Dubai’s reputation as a key business epicenter on the global stage. As part of this initiative, various types of fraud risks are being brought to light, including deceptive advertisements, phishing scams, fake investment opportunities, online marketplace fraud, bank card theft, cryptocurrency trickery, and misleading business partnerships.
