Dubai Chambers seeks to enhance economic ties with Serbia.
Dubai Chambers recently embarked on a trade mission to Belgrade, aiming to enhance economic collaboration between Dubai and Serbia. This initiative underscores the mutual intent to expand bilateral engagement across various sectors, fostering investment and trade relationships.
Strengthening Collaborative Ties
The mission was spearheaded by Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, the Chairman of Dubai Chambers, alongside Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, the President and CEO of the organization. This strategic visit is part of the ‘Growth Corridors’ initiative, designed to bolster trade and investment partnerships with promising global markets. Eng. Al Mansoori expressed the importance of this collaboration, stating, “The growing cooperation between Dubai and Serbia reflects our shared commitment to opening new horizons for trade and investment.” He noted that this visit serves as a pivotal opportunity to facilitate dialogue between the two nations, enhancing economic objectives and creating high-value opportunities.
During this mission, the delegation engaged in numerous meetings and roundtable discussions with key Serbian stakeholders. Notably, they met with the Ministry of Domestic and Foreign Trade, represented by Minister Jagoda Lazarević. These discussions centered on fortifying trade and investment connections in essential sectors such as food and agriculture, tourism, renewable energy, and logistics, as well as efforts to attract tech talent.
Fostering Business Interactions
Recognizing the potential for collaboration, Dubai Chambers extended an invitation to Serbian companies to partake in specialized trade exhibitions hosted in Dubai. They emphasized the importance of organizing bilateral business events that facilitate direct engagement and partnership formation between Serbian entities and their Dubai counterparts. This initiative aims to streamline participation and enhance business opportunities for Serbian firms within the Dubai market.
The mission also included a roundtable discussion with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS), featuring seven prominent Serbian technology entrepreneurs. This session showcased Dubai’s commitment to accelerating artificial intelligence adoption while highlighting the resources available to Serbian companies seeking to expand in Dubai. The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy offers various support avenues for companies aiming to benefit from the emirate’s advanced technological landscape.
Additionally, roundtable sessions were held with the Science and Technology Park Belgrade and Serbia’s Innovation Fund to discuss opportunities in innovation and advanced technologies. Key focus areas included health tech, gaming, biotechnology, and blockchain. Such discussions aim to enhance collaboration and foster robust entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Exploring Investment Opportunities
The delegation also spotlighted Dubai’s advantages for Serbian e-commerce firms looking to expand regionally. The emirate’s status as a logistical hub, coupled with its advanced supply chain infrastructure, presents significant opportunities for Serbian businesses. Meetings with the Development Agency of Serbia, tasked with promoting investment and exports, emphasized boosting mutual investment flows. Discussions similarly revolved around potential collaborations in diverse sectors such as manufacturing, mining, and advanced technologies.
Throughout this mission, Dubai Chambers detailed the support available for Serbian entities eager to establish a presence in Dubai and leverage the emirate as a gateway to regional and global markets. The recent UAE–Serbia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) creates additional avenues for collaboration across various sectors, including technology, innovation, real estate, and financial services.
The data underscores the growing economic ties between Dubai and Serbia, with non-oil trade reaching AED335.8 million in 2024—an impressive 43.5% increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, 109 Serbian companies became members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in 2025, bringing the total active Serbian membership to 308, marking a remarkable annual growth of 36.9%. As both nations continue to strengthen their business relationships, the future looks bright for collaborative ventures.
