Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy Fostered 1,690 Startups in 2025

Dubai is becoming a pivotal hub for digital innovation, significantly bolstering its status as a global center for startups and entrepreneurial growth. In 2025, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy proudly announced its support for 1,690 digital startups, marking a robust 39.7% increase from the previous year. This impressive growth underscores the chamber’s strategic role in enhancing Dubai’s digital landscape and attracting both local and international businesses.

Focus on Global and Specialized Enterprises

Of the enterprises supported, about 75% were global companies, signifying Dubai’s appeal to international markets. The chamber has also prioritized specialists in rapidly growing sectors, with 15% of startups focusing on artificial intelligence and 12% in financial technology (fintech). The presence of companies involved in mobility technology, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and e-commerce further highlights the diverse digital economy ecosystem. In total, approximately 20% of the supported companies fell within these segments, indicating a broad portfolio that aligns with contemporary market trends.

Introduction of Dubai Founders HQ

The launch of Dubai Founders HQ in October is pivotal for the emirate’s startup landscape. This initiative, a collaboration between Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, aims to strengthen support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups. Dubai Founders HQ is an innovative “phygital” platform that merges a tangible location with a comprehensive digital ecosystem, creating a unique space for entrepreneurs, investors, and business facilitators to connect and collaborate. This initiative is designed to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship while providing the infrastructure necessary for growth.

Supporting Startup Growth with Integrated Services

To facilitate the growth of digital enterprises, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy offers the ‘Business in Dubai’ platform, which provides a variety of corporate services and business matchmaking opportunities. In 2025, 48% of supported companies utilized these resources for business setup and opportunities to access accelerators and incubators. Additionally, 31% received extensive business support through the chamber’s offerings, laying the foundation for successful operations in Dubai’s vibrant digital marketplace.

Key Initiatives and Event Success

One of the chamber’s key initiatives, the Create Apps Championship, has gained remarkable traction since its conception. This competition, aimed at promoting innovation in smart application development, received over 5,800 registrations across its initial editions. The event not only facilitated the launch of more than 55 smart applications but also provided funding opportunities exceeding AED 2.5 million for the winning teams. Moreover, the 10th edition of Expand North Star in October 2025 attracted over 2,000 startups and 1,200 investors, further solidifying Dubai’s reputation as a key player in the global digital economy.

Throughout the year, the chamber actively organized 36 events and conducted 17 international roadshows to bolster partnerships and showcase Dubai’s strengths in the digital economy. This outreach strategy successfully engaged with over 2,500 digital startups and key stakeholders across diverse sectors. The events aimed to highlight Dubai’s ecosystem while stimulating interest from potential investors and collaborators.

In summary, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is committed to creating a sustainable digital ecosystem that supports innovation and growth for startups and SMEs. Through strategic initiatives, expert guidance, and collaborative platforms, Dubai is not only enhancing its digital landscape but is also reinforcing its status as a global powerhouse for digital entrepreneurship.
