Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy Boosted 1,690 Startups in 2025
Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has made significant strides in supporting the digital startup ecosystem in Dubai, helping to establish and grow 1,690 digital firms in 2025. This figure represents an impressive 39.7% increase from the previous year, underlining the chamber’s pivotal role in positioning Dubai as a top global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in the digital sector.
Sector Highlights: Growth in Digital Companies
Approximately 15% of the newly established startups were focused on artificial intelligence, while fintech companies constituted 12%. In addition, the combined share of businesses specializing in mobility technology, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and e-commerce accounted for another 20%. Notably, 75% of all companies benefited from global support networks facilitated by the chamber, emphasizing the international appeal of Dubai’s entrepreneurial landscape.
Dubai Founders HQ Initiative
The launch of Dubai Founders HQ in October marked a significant step forward in bolstering the local startup ecosystem. Spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, this unique “phygital” platform integrates a physical campus with a comprehensive digital environment. The initiative serves as a collaborative hub designed to unite entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate partners, nurturing innovation and enabling rapid business growth.
His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, who oversees the chamber, expressed a commitment to enhancing Dubai’s status as a hub for digital economies. The vision is to create an agile regulatory landscape and advanced infrastructure that supports innovation. This commitment aims to empower startups to scale efficiently while attracting investment and talent across diverse sectors.
Integrated Support Services
The ‘Business in Dubai’ platform is a critical resource for new enterprises, providing a suite of services tailored to assist those looking to establish or expand their operations. In 2025, nearly half of the supported startups utilized business setup services, while over 30% accessed various forms of business support, such as accelerator and incubator programs. These offerings are designed to facilitate effective growth by connecting businesses with essential partners, investors, and potential clients.
Celebrating Innovation through Competitions
In April 2025, the ‘Create Apps Championship’ acknowledged innovative digital applications, with strong interest reflected in over 5,800 registrations. This initiative, launched under the ‘Create Apps in Dubai’ program in March 2023, aims to streamline smart application development and reinforce Dubai’s reputation as a global digital economy leader. Since its inception, more than 55 applications have been developed and launched, further validating the chamber’s commitment to fostering technological talent.
Continuing its efforts to empower innovators, the upcoming third edition of the championship introduces a dedicated support program for high-potential teams. This initiative includes access to business accelerator programs and aims to facilitate the launch of 50 new applications, coupled with funding packages exceeding AED 2.5 million to support the winning projects.
In summary, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is at the forefront of transforming the emirate into a thriving center for digital innovation. Through comprehensive support services, collaborative initiatives, and competitive platforms, the chamber not only fosters local talent but also attracts global enterprises to the region. As Dubai’s digital ecosystem continues to evolve, stakeholders from around the world are recognizing the expansive opportunities it offers in the tech landscape.
