One-third of partners grow operations as Dubai Healthcare City thrives.

Dubai’s healthcare sector is experiencing significant expansion, showcasing its role as a premier destination for investment and advanced medical services. This growth is marked by substantial developments in Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), supported by the Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA).

Impressive Growth Metrics in Healthcare Development

In a recent announcement, DHCA reported a remarkable 27% rise in business partners expanding their operations within DHCC. This indicates strong confidence in the ecosystem, with nearly one in three partners opting to upscale their facilities. The total number of active healthcare establishments has risen to 487, and the workforce has expanded by 30%, reaching 12,941 professionals. Additionally, the number of new projects has surged by 26% year-on-year, underscoring DHCC’s pivotal role in achieving Dubai’s vision for a world-class healthcare hub as outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.

As DHCC prepares to shine at the World Health Expo (WHX) Dubai 2026, the authority emphasizes the growing global demand for integrated healthcare solutions. Issam Galadari, CEO of DHCA, highlighted that the ongoing expansion is a testament to the ecosystem’s potential. With nearly one-third of partners committing to growth, it signals sustained demand and a strong value proposition for the healthcare sector.

Phase 1 Development: Integrated Clusters Underway

The AED 1.3 billion development plan for Phase 1 is well underway, with the launch of two integrated clusters. The first cluster, covering 21,110 square meters, is set to become a vibrant residential area featuring a mix of standard and branded residences as well as co-living spaces. This space will also offer retail and convenience amenities, fostering a strong sense of community.

The second cluster, which spans 15,150 square meters, is designed as the commercial and healthcare hub. It will house a range of medical offices, clinics, and corporate spaces, complemented by retail sections aimed at healthcare professionals and visitors. Among the notable projects in Phase 1 is Pixel DHCC, the first LEED Platinum-certified office building, which will provide flexible workspaces alongside commercial areas.

Additional significant developments include the Ibn Sina+ DHCC, a cutting-edge medical facility directly connected to the existing Ibn Sina complex. This complex, designed by a leading architecture firm, will offer state-of-the-art surgical and diagnostic facilities, enhancing healthcare delivery in the region.

Phase 2: Accelerating Mixed-Use Developments

The momentum continues in Phase 2 of DHCC, where 58% of projects are now committed, totaling an impressive AED 5.4 billion investment. By January 2026, infrastructure progress in this phase is expected to reach 80%. This rapid development reflects robust demand for integrated healthcare, residential, and educational projects.

Exciting projects in Phase 2 include the Ketura by Ritz-Carlton residence, the Kempinski Residence, and the Dubai Creek Garden, a landmark master plan designed to cater to a mixed-use lifestyle spanning 127,000 square meters. Furthermore, specialized medical centers like the Asan Medical Center and Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital are set to enhance patient care and treatment options in the city.

With ongoing infrastructure advancements aimed for completion by 2026, DHCC remains committed to fostering innovation and investment in healthcare. This dedication supports Dubai’s vision of cultivating a resilient, diversified, and knowledge-based economy.

In summary, the strategic developments underway at Dubai Healthcare City not only reinforce its status as a healthcare leader but also resonate with Dubai’s broader ambitions of becoming a global health and wellness destination.
