Al Safeer Congress Ambassadors recognized for boosting Dubai’s business events.
The Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme has recognized over 47 ambassadors for their significant contributions to establishing Dubai as a premier destination for global business events. Their efforts in attracting international conferences, facilitating knowledge exchange, and nurturing local events have played a vital role in strengthening the emirate’s reputation in the business events landscape.
Celebrating Contributions to Dubai’s Economic Growth
Held annually by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), this gala event honors the ambassadors and their diverse roles. The ceremony took place at The Lana, Dorchester Collection, and attracted industry professionals, stakeholders, and representatives from various sectors. The celebration highlighted the ambassadors’ impact on Dubai’s economic diversification and innovation, aligning with the D33 Economic Agenda, which aims to propel the city forward.
The evening featured entertaining performances from notable artists like stand-up comedian Mina Liccione and musical artist Abdulla Al Shamsi, who is known as NotSoHuman. Besides recognition, the event served as a networking platform, enabling ambassadors to forge new collaborations and connect with industry peers.
Acknowledging Diverse Expertise
The awards were presented across four categories: Dubai Association Centre, Homegrown Events, Regional Events, and International Events. This year’s honorees included professionals from various fields such as healthcare, technology, academia, engineering, and government. Their accomplishments showcase not only the breadth of expertise within the Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme but also the program’s ongoing commitment to enhancing Dubai’s international standing in the business events sector.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, noted the essential role of these ambassadors in promoting Dubai as a leading business event destination. Their expertise, commitment, and networks are instrumental in bringing significant conferences to the city that foster sector development and knowledge sharing, crucial for long-term economic progress.
Impact of the Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme
Since its initiation in 2010, the Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme has expanded to include over 350 members and facilitated numerous high-profile events in Dubai. In 2025 alone, Dubai Business Events recorded 747 bids for conferences, achieving a 15% success rate by securing 504 future events scheduled through 2029. This influx of business is projected to attract over 272,262 delegates, marking a notable year-on-year increase.
As Dubai strives to cement its role within the global Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector, the Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme stands as a key driver of innovation and excellence. By fostering collaboration across diverse industries, the program supports the emirate’s broader economic goals and enhances its appeal as a knowledge-driven city.
