Dubai Real Estate Tied to Hemedti

Mohamed ‘Hemedti’ Hamdan Dagalo, the commander of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), is deeply associated with a substantial property portfolio valued at $1.7 million in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This information was uncovered through real estate records analyzed by The Sentry. The RSF, known for its violent actions, has been engaged in conflict with Sudan’s Armed Forces since 2023, resulting in over 100,000 fatalities. Given this backdrop, Hemedti’s affiliation with multiple properties starkly contrasts the massive displacement caused by the ongoing war, with around 12 million individuals—about a quarter of Sudan’s populace—having been uprooted from their homes by January 2026.

Hemedti’s Dubai Property Purchases

In March 2020, Hemedti acquired three apartments in the eastern suburbs of Dubai, near the UAE’s Al Minhad military airbase. Initially purchased under his name, these properties were sold in July 2022 to Prodigious Real Estate Management Supervision Services, a UAE-registered entity. The individuals connected to Prodigious, including its current owner Abo Zer Abdelnabi Habiballa Ahmmed (commonly known as Abozer Habib), have various ties to companies previously sanctioned due to their links with RSF operations. The U.S. Treasury blacklisted Habib in 2025 due to his ownership of the Capital Tap group, which has been implicated in providing financial and military resources to the RSF. Notably, former stakeholders of Prodigious, such as Emirati businessman Naser Helal Abdulla Helal Alhammadi and Sudanese Islam Badreldin Mohamed Abdalla, were also associated with companies under the Capital Tap umbrella.

Valuation and Tenancy

The estimated total value of the three properties owned by Hemedti is close to $1 million, while Prodigious also has a commercial property in Dubai worth approximately $670,000. This commercial space was previously occupied by an interior design firm linked to Alhammadi and Mazin Fadlalla, a figure suspected of acting as a front for the RSF. From 2023 to 2025, Prodigious reportedly generated at least $80,000 annually in rental income from its property assets. This financial success adds complexity to the narrative of Hemedti’s wealth amidst the suffering and turmoil experienced by millions in Sudan.

Investigative Insights

The Sentry’s findings regarding Hemedti’s real estate investments emerged from a database of leaked property records in Dubai covering 2020 and 2022. These records were initially acquired by the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS), an American nonprofit organization, and further corroborated by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). This investigation exposes the seemingly intricate relationship between the RSF and the UAE government.

The ongoing examinations into Hemedti’s properties illuminate a broader pattern concerning the RSF’s connections with the UAE. Although the UAE government categorically denies supporting the RSF, the third report by The Sentry reveals continued underlying ties of the Dagalo family with Emirati interests. Previous investigations by The Sentry and other entities have highlighted that the UAE is not only facilitating the RSF’s operations but may also be supplying them with weapons and drones, while simultaneously benefiting from the illicit flow of gold into its territories. Insights from the New York Times indicate that support for the RSF may originate from upper echelons of the UAE leadership, including influential figures like Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and his brothers.

This complex web of relationships illustrates an ongoing dilemma facing both Sudan and the international community as they grapple with the ramifications of the RSF’s actions and the geopolitical dimensions surrounding them.
