AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings Unveils New Location in Dubai

AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings is set to launch a new color blending and distribution facility in Dubai, scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2026. This strategic move aims to enhance the company’s local presence, enabling them to provide tailored coatings to customers in the Middle East.

Expanding Reach in the Middle East

The establishment of this facility in Dubai marks a significant step in AkzoNobel’s efforts to broaden its reach. By offering locally stocked and customized coatings, the company will be better positioned to serve various clients, including Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operators, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), commercial aviation operators, and other industry partners. This local facility will facilitate a quicker response to the specific needs of the aviation market in the region.

Advanced Color Blending Technology

At the new Dubai facility, AkzoNobel plans to introduce automated and precision-controlled processes for color blending. This technology promises consistent and reliable accuracy in color production, ensuring that clients receive exactly what they need. The facility will be equipped to blend a variety of colors, including popular options such as Aerobase, Aerodur 3001, and Eclipse colors. With this advanced capability, AkzoNobel aims to enhance the quality and reliability of its coatings.

Streamlined Access to Essential Products

In addition to color blending, the Dubai facility intends to streamline access to essential aerospace coatings products. This includes primers, thinners, and topcoats, which are critical to the aviation maintenance process. By providing a comprehensive range of products locally, AkzoNobel can significantly reduce lead times and improve operational efficiency for its clients in the region.

Strengthening Regional Support

Xavier Rijmenans, the EMEA Sales Director at AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings, emphasizes the importance of regional partnerships. “We work closely with established partners in the Middle East who rely on our trusted solutions,” Rijmenans stated. He further noted that by expanding their color blending and distribution capabilities, AkzoNobel is not only reducing lead times but is also enhancing regional support. This move aims to empower customers to scale their operations effectively and respond to the growing demand within the region.

Rijmenans also highlighted that this model, which has proven successful in Asia, Europe, and North America, will provide customers across the Middle East with improved access to locally blended, high-quality coatings. This will ultimately lead to more efficient operations and better service delivery.
