Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy Boosts 1,690 Startups in 2025
The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has unveiled impressive statistics for 2025, revealing its crucial role in fostering the growth of digital startups in Dubai. The chamber successfully supported the establishment and expansion of 1,690 digital startups, marking a remarkable 39.7% increase compared to the previous year. This growth emphasizes Dubai’s status as a leading global destination for digital entrepreneurship.
Support for Diverse Digital Startups
The dynamics of the digital ecosystem in Dubai are characterized by a diverse array of specializations. Approximately 15% of the companies supported by the chamber focus on artificial intelligence, while fintech enterprises comprise about 12%. The digital domain further includes mobility tech, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and e-commerce, collectively accounting for another 20% of the startups. This diversification highlights the broad appeal and potential of Dubai as a nurturing ground for innovative ideas and technologies.
In a significant testament to its global appeal, around 75% of the businesses supported in 2025 originated from international markets. This influx of global talent underscores Dubai’s attractiveness to entrepreneurs worldwide, further strengthening its reputation as a burgeoning hub for digital businesses.
Innovative Initiatives to Foster Growth
A key initiative launched to enhance Dubai’s startup ecosystem is the Dubai Founders HQ, presented by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. This pioneering platform integrates a vibrant physical campus with a comprehensive digital framework aimed at bridging connections among founders, investors, and corporate entities. By fostering collaboration, the initiative aims to spur innovation and business development within the emirate.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, emphasized the commitment of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy to establish a robust digital economy. He highlighted the chamber’s focus on innovation, infrastructure, and legislation, ensuring that Dubai remains attractive for digital companies. This commitment not only boosts local competitiveness but also draws in investment and talent essential for future industries.
Strategic Programs and Championships
Supporting the growth of digital ventures in 2025, nearly half of the startups assisted by the chamber received essential business setup services, while 31% leveraged a range of support offerings to accelerate their growth. Moreover, the chamber’s ‘Business in Dubai’ platform serves as a vital resource, connecting businesses with investors, partners, and customers necessary for rapid scaling.
An important feature of this support is the ‘Create Apps Championship,’ which encourages innovative application development. Launched as part of the larger initiative to enhance Dubai’s standing in the digital economy, the championship has seen high engagement, with over 5,800 registrations and the successful launch of more than 55 smart applications. The third edition, recently announced, also brings a Participant Support Programme aimed at facilitating further innovations by helping teams finalize their app projects with additional guidance and funding.
Engagement with the Global Startup Community
The year culminated in significant events, including the 10th edition of Expand North Star, a major gathering of startups and investors that drew participation from over 2,000 startups and more than 1,200 investors. This robust turnout highlighted Dubai’s increasing influence in shaping the digital landscape and creating investment opportunities.
As part of its outreach, the chamber organized 36 events and 17 international roadshows throughout 2025, showcasing the strengths of Dubai’s digital economy. These efforts included meetings with over 2,500 digital startups, reinforcing ties with incubators, and establishing collaborations across various sectors. The chamber also released eight comprehensive reports, including tools for entrepreneurs to maximize their tech potential, further solidifying its dedication to nurturing Dubai’s digital frontier.
