Emirates Introduces Premium Economy for Beijing and Beirut Flights

Emirates Airlines is set to enhance its offerings with the introduction of Premium Economy seating on retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft. This new cabin class will be available on select routes starting in early 2026, specifically for flights from Dubai to Beirut and Beijing.

New Routes for Premium Economy

Beginning January 6, 2026, the Dubai-Beirut route will feature the newly upgraded Boeing 777, followed by the Dubai-Beijing route starting February 1, 2026. Beijing is now the fourth destination in China to offer these modern aircraft with upgraded products. Passengers flying to Beirut will also benefit from the airline’s refined Business Class, boasting a spacious 1-2-1 layout.

Enhanced Travel Experience

First introduced in 2021 on the A380 route from Dubai to London, the Premium Economy seats provide a superior travel experience. This cabin offers wider seats with better recline options, along with leg and foot rests for added comfort. Travelers will also enjoy an improved dining experience and a generous baggage allowance—35kg checked luggage plus 10kg for carry-on items.

Aircraft Features and Configurations

The refurbished Boeing 777 will showcase updated interiors, including tasteful wood finishes across all classes. The aircraft is designed with a four-class configuration that includes 260 seats in Economy, 24 in Premium Economy, 40 Business Class seats, and eight luxurious First Class Suites. This layout aims to cater to various passenger preferences while maintaining an upscale feel throughout the cabin.

Expanding the Premium Economy Experience

For those traveling from Beirut or Beijing with onward connections on Emirates, the Premium Economy experience will remain consistent throughout their journey. The airline is actively expanding this cabin class across its global network, which in 2025 will include services to Kuala Lumpur, Adelaide, Oslo, Kolkata, and Malé, among others.

Current flights to Beirut depart from Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 15:40, landing at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) at 17:00, with the return flight leaving at 19:45. Beijing flights leave DXB at 03:20 and arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) at 14:45, with return services departing at 00:40 and arriving back in Dubai at 05:30.

Additionally, Emirates is focused on enhancing the overall passenger experience with plans to incorporate free Starlink WiFi across its entire fleet by 2027. This new service, which will be unveiled at the 2025 Dubai Airshow, aims to provide passengers with high-speed internet similar to ground-based connectivity, making travel even more convenient.
