Emirates Introduces Premium Economy in Ten Additional Cities

Emirates Airlines is broadening its Premium Economy service, launching in ten new cities and increasing operations in two locations where it already flies. This move coincides with the airline’s enhanced deployment of retrofitted Boeing 777s and newly introduced Airbus A350s across its network, offering an enhanced travel experience as summer approaches.

Expansion Across Global Destinations

Emirates’ latest service expansion covers routes in Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia. By introducing Premium Economy to more destinations, Emirates aims to enhance its service just ahead of the busy summer travel season. Customers will benefit from newly updated Business and Economy Class cabins alongside the upgraded Premium Economy. This initiative is supported by increased flight frequencies on selected routes.

Beginning on July 1, Emirates plans to operate Premium Economy-equipped A380s, Boeing 777s, and A350s on over 84 routes. This accelerated expansion signifies a commitment to providing travelers with a seamless and superior experience on long-haul flights. With this widescale rollout, travelers are sure to appreciate the numerous upgrades in comfort and service.

Enhanced Service in Copenhagen and Cape Town

Starting June 1, Emirates will introduce a second daily flight from Dubai to Copenhagen, utilizing the A350 model. This will be followed by the addition of a third daily service to Phuket and Cape Town as of July 1. These additional flights are tailored to accommodate the rising demand for seasonal travel while maintaining the airline’s notable Premium Economy experience, which includes added legroom, enhanced dining options, and an overall elevated service level.

The new Copenhagen route will operate as flights EK153 and EK154, with departures from Dubai at 14:50 and arrivals at 19:45, and returning from Copenhagen at 21:35. This scheduling aligns well with onward connections via Dubai to various destinations in East Asia, including Bangkok and Tokyo Haneda, while also improving travel options to important African locations such as Nairobi.

The new Phuket route is designated as EK390 and EK391, featuring a departure time from Dubai at 22:40, with a next-morning arrival at 08:10, and a return at 10:00 back to Dubai at 13:05. This timing supports travelers from major European hubs, making it easier for international passengers to connect.

Ongoing Growth of Premium Economy Networks

Cape Town also receives attention with the new EK778 and EK779 flights operating as a third daily service. Departing Dubai at 10:25 and arriving in Cape Town at 18:05, the return flight sets out at 20:00 to arrive in Dubai by 07:25 the next day. Emirates has reported that double daily services to Cape Town have seen robust demand, particularly from the Gulf Cooperation Council and steady onward traffic to Europe and the East Coast of the U.S.

Aside from the newly added routes and frequencies, Emirates is also scheduled to commence services using the A350 to Rome on March 29 and Taipei on May 1. Additionally, the airline has planned for Premium Economy upgrades in various cities, including Barcelona and Mexico City from February 1, Cochin from January 29 for select flights, and Brisbane from March 29 on retrofitted Boeing 777-300ERs. This ongoing enhancement of services showcases Emirates’ commitment to providing an unparalleled travel experience across its key long-haul markets.
