‘Dubai Invite’ Program Ends After 90,000 Resident Applications

Dubai recently announced the conclusion of registrations for its popular initiative, “A Dubai Invite.” The program received an overwhelming response, with over 90,000 applications from residents eager to share the city’s wonders with friends and family. Though registrations are now closed, benefits will still be awarded to those who successfully registered their visitors, as long as these visitors arrive in Dubai by October 31. This initiative not only showcases the unwavering pride Dubai’s residents hold for their city but also highlights the vital role of the visiting friends and relatives (VFR) segment in enriching the local tourism landscape.

Significance of the Initiative

Launched on July 20, “A Dubai Invite” was designed to acknowledge the crucial part that residents play in promoting Dubai as a must-visit destination. The initial demand for the program was so significant that the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) collaborated with various stakeholders to triple the number of exclusive benefit packages available. Only visitors arriving directly in Dubai from abroad, and who complete their visit before October 31, 2026, qualify for these perks. The eligibility details and confirmation processes are managed by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA – Dubai). Successful applicants will continue to receive benefits within 72 hours of their guests’ arrivals, which will be valid at participating venues until the end of December 2026.

A Community Effort

The successful implementation of “A Dubai Invite” underscores the significant contribution of Dubai’s diverse resident community in shaping the city’s image. With nearly 200 nationalities represented, the initiative reflects how residents influence visitors’ experiences through their unique perspectives and local knowledge. This collaborative effort aligns seamlessly with the UAE’s Year of Family, emphasizing the importance of familial ties and community connections as residents welcome their loved ones to the city.

Noor Al Geziry, AVP of Special Projects and MENA at DET, stated that the remarkable enthusiasm for “A Dubai Invite” illustrates how residents are among the most effective advocates for Dubai. Their authentic experiences can offer invaluable insights to visitors, reinforcing the aim to position Dubai as the top choice for living, working, and visiting.

Partnership with Local Businesses

The initiative was the result of nearly a year of collaboration with both public and private sectors, resulting in a variety of exclusive benefits in hospitality, dining, and entertainment. Participating hotels like W Dubai Mina Seyahi and Le Meridien, alongside attractions such as Aquaventure Waterpark and IMG Worlds of Adventure, have all contributed to the diverse offerings available to successful applicants. This collaborative approach not only enhances the visitor experience but also strengthens Dubai’s reputation as a welcoming destination for families.

Industry leaders like Dorsai Khaghani from Kerzner International and Tarek Labib from IHG Hotels & Resorts have expressed pride in their involvement, noting how initiatives like “A Dubai Invite” help forge stronger connections among residents and their guests. This momentum showcases Dubai’s commitment to focus on the VFR segment, enriching both local life and the visitor experience.

In essence, “A Dubai Invite” stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of Dubai’s residents, highlighting their role in promoting the city as a premier global destination. The program’s success reflects a dedicated effort to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that make Dubai an extraordinary place to live and visit. As DET continues to engage with its vibrant community, it remains focused on enhancing opportunities for residents and visitors alike, ensuring that the city thrives as a hub of culture, hospitality, and unity.
