dnata has unveiled a new and improved Cargo Integrated Command Centre (CICC) in Dubai, which consolidates critical operational data, advanced technology, and decision-making processes to enhance its cargo services at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC). This newly established facility reflects dnata’s commitment to optimizing and expanding its cargo operations.

Centralized Operations and Real-Time Insights

Located at dnata’s DXB hub, the CICC serves as a central hub for managing and overseeing cargo activities across both airports. This strategic location allows teams to gain a comprehensive view of operations, enhancing their ability to predict operational requirements, allocate resources effectively, and adapt swiftly to changing conditions. The CICC has overseen an impressive operation that processed over one million tonnes of cargo, with 189,000 flight operations and 46,000 truck movements recorded during the 2025-26 financial year.

Enhancing visibility is paramount when it comes to coordinating resources across such a complex operation. The CICC is engineered to facilitate seamless collaboration between various teams, facilities, and processes, ultimately positioning dnata for continued growth in both cargo volumes and operational intricacies.

Innovative Technology for Speedy Decision-Making

At the core of the CICC lies dnata’s proprietary operational dashboard, which aggregates essential information and refreshes every ten seconds to provide a near real-time overview of ongoing operations. This system pulls information from dnata’s One Cargo management system, which tracks operational tasks and transactions in real-time. Additionally, the Appointment and Dock Management system contributes to providing an accurate account of truck movements at both airports.

Moreover, the CICC integrates data from Calogi, dnata’s cargo community platform, enabling teams to closely monitor landside activities and additional services such as last-mile delivery. This synergy between systems empowers CICC personnel to supervise operations across dnata’s cargo network, identify potential delays, and coordinate efforts among various teams and facilities.

Streamlined Cargo Movement Across Airports

With this cohesive view of the entire cargo journey, CICC teams can make timely and informed decisions regarding workload management, capacity, and resource deployment. This integrated strategy aims to ensure a smooth cargo flow through dnata’s facilities while upholding the service standards expected by airlines and freight-forwarding partners.

Nabil Sultan Al Murr, dnata’s Group Chief Executive Officer, emphasizes the importance of operational visibility, stating, “Cargo operations involve thousands of interconnected activities every day, making operational visibility essential to maintaining performance at scale.” His remarks highlight the strategic intent behind the enhanced command centre to continuously evolve the operational model and bolster Dubai’s position as a premier global logistics hub.

Future-Ready Infrastructure for Expansion

The establishment of the CICC is part of a broader investment strategy in technology and digital innovation at dnata’s Dubai cargo operations. This includes recently implemented projects such as the use of autonomous drones for inventory management, achieving over 99% accuracy in shipment tracking. Additionally, dnata has developed a centralized cargo screening control room in collaboration with Dubai Police to enable remote monitoring of X-ray screening machines.

The new command centre has been meticulously designed to be scalable, allowing it to adapt to dnata’s growing cargo demands and support an increase in capacity across the UAE. This forward-thinking approach positions dnata as a leader in the logistics sector, ready to embrace future challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving cargo landscape.
