Dubai RTA Revenue Sees Annual Increase of 20.6%
Riyadh: The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) experienced a significant growth in revenue as it soared by 20.6 percent year-on-year in 2025, reaching an impressive 5.3 billion dirhams ($1.44 billion). This surge is largely attributed to the increasing utilization of its online services, illustrating a clear shift in consumer behavior towards digital platforms.
Growth in Digital Transactions
According to reports from Emirates News Agency (WAM), the number of transactions completed through digital channels exceeded 628 million, marking a 13 percent increase. This transition underscores how crucial digital channels have become for the RTA in enhancing service delivery and accessibility for residents and visitors. With 105 digital services available across six platforms, customer satisfaction has notably soared, averaging around 98 percent. This showcases the effectiveness of digital solutions in meeting user needs.
Dubai’s Digital Transformation Agenda
These impressive results come at a pivotal time when Dubai is ramping up its efforts to digitize government services. The emirate’s strategic focus on integrating advanced technologies into the public sector aims to elevate the standard of living and bolster its position as one of the world’s leading digital cities. Digital Dubai envisions seamless, cohesive, and proactive digital services that will redefine the urban experience for its inhabitants.
The UAE’s digital transformation is poised for substantial growth in the coming years. Digital Dubai has forecasted that the nation’s digital economy will expand dramatically from approximately $38 billion to $140 billion by 2031. This projection emphasizes the escalating significance of technology, artificial intelligence, and digital services as fundamental drivers of economic development.
Future Initiatives and Innovation
Mattar Al-Tayer, the Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, highlighted that the authority’s next steps would revolve around further infusing artificial intelligence and emerging technologies into service design and delivery. He noted the importance of bolstering connections with government digital platforms, in order to construct a robust digital ecosystem that fosters sustainable growth and aligns with the fast-evolving global mobility sector.
The RTA’s accomplishments are evident in their high score of 94 percent on the Digital Maturity Index, achieving Level 5—the highest maturity rank within the Dubai Government—as of 2025. The authority also ranked among the top four government entities in this index, demonstrating its leadership in digital innovation. Additionally, RTA’s score in the Digital Customer Experience category surged to 83 percent, a notable increase of 12 percentage points from the previous year.
Increase in Smart Application Usage
The shift toward digital services is further highlighted by the growing customer engagement with RTA’s smart applications, where usage has exceeded 25 percent, reflecting a remarkable 40 percent annual growth. To meet customer demands and align with government objectives, the RTA recently introduced 18 new services on the RTA Dubai app. This commitment to innovation has resulted in over 1.2 million active users of the app in 2025.
The app’s annual visit count reached 68 million in 2025, an astounding 144 percent increase compared to the previous year, indicating a significant uptick in user interaction. Furthermore, inquiries and journey-planning requests received through the app surged by 48 percent, reaching 48 million. These metrics not only signify the growing reliance on digital platforms but also demonstrate RTA’s proactive approach in adapting to consumer preferences in an increasingly digital world.
