Under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), the Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai (RIT Dubai) recently celebrated the graduation of its 15th cohort. This milestone took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre and featured 394 graduates from a total of 16 undergraduate and master’s degree programs, emphasizing the institute’s commitment to nurturing future talent.

Significant Attendees Celebrate Achievement

The graduation ceremony was graced by prominent figures, including His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai; His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ; and His Excellency Essa Kazim, Chairman of DP World. Other notable attendees included Robert Raines, US Consul General to Dubai; Dr. Yousef Al Assaf, President of RIT Dubai; along with high-ranking government officials, educators, and proud families of the graduates. This gathering underscored the importance of educational advancement in shaping a knowledge-based economy.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum highlighted that the graduation of this new cohort is pivotal for cultivating talent equipped to tackle future challenges. Diverse Academic Programs for a Modern Workforce

Graduates in this cohort came from a range of programs, including nine undergraduate degrees in engineering fields, finance, cybersecurity, and humanities. The master’s degrees offered opportunities in emerging sectors such as data analytics and mechanical engineering. The diverse curriculum underscores RIT Dubai’s dedication to providing education that aligns with the evolving needs of the job market.

RIT Dubai continues to expand its educational offerings. This year marked the introduction of new undergraduate programs in Management Information Systems and Advertising & Public Relations, broadening the skill set available to students. Additional master’s programs and micro-master’s certificates were launched, allowing for greater flexibility in career advancement.

Commitment to Ongoing Development

Since its inception, RIT Dubai has seen over 2,490 graduates, reflecting its growth and increasing importance in the realm of higher education within Dubai and the UAE. The graduation of the first cohort of Psychology students signifies a broader reach into specialized fields that meet societal demands. The institute is proactively introducing new programs, including a dual-degree engineering option that allows students to attain both bachelor’s and master’s degrees more efficiently.

As RIT Dubai moves forward, plans include new programs aimed at integrating design and technology, as well as the launch of courses tailored to address the unique challenges of modern industries.
