Subsequent retrofits are expected to be more efficient, averaging around 30 days as lessons from the initial phase are implemented.

Expanding Fleet Overhaul

Launched in 2021, Emirates’ retrofit program has evolved significantly, now encompassing a broader scope than initially planned. So far, the airline has completed renovations on 95 aircraft, which include 42 Airbus A380s and 53 Boeing 777s, accounting for more than a third of its fleet. Originally aimed at 120 aircraft, the initiative has now expanded to cover 219 planes, marking it as one of the most extensive cabin refurbishment projects in the aviation sector. On average, two aircraft per month emerge from the engineering hangars in Dubai as the program progresses, demonstrating Emirates’ commitment to providing an outstanding in-flight experience for its passengers.
