Spanning over 47,000 square meters, the campus integrates innovative architectural design with immersive digital environments, focusing on research-based teaching methodologies. With 20 specialized zones incorporating advanced audiovisual systems, GEMS SRI enhances student engagement and fosters creativity in diverse academic pursuits.

A Unique Approach to Educational Technology

To bring this ambitious vision to life, GEMS partnered with UK-based consultant Kampus AV early in the design phase to ensure that the unique educational spaces were effectively conceptualized. Subsequently, Granteq, a Dubai-based systems integrator, was engaged. Their expertise allowed for both design consultancy and actual implementation. Recognizing that GEMS SRI is not a standard school, Granteq was committed to creating a long-lasting infrastructure conducive to exploration in fields like AI, performing arts, and sports.

The project, which cost $4 million and received approval from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, is anticipated to open its doors in August 2025. Granteq’s work, including digital signage, projection mapping, and advanced auditorium systems, is designed to break conventional boundaries, further enhancing the learning experience.

For instance, the performing arts area includes a professional-grade auditorium equipped with video conferencing capabilities and assistive listening systems. The campus boasts an array of interactive digital surfaces equipped with radar-based touch systems and multi-zone LED floors, designed to respond to student interaction. The audio-visual setup incorporates a comprehensive Dante network to ensure seamless communication across multiple spaces, including classrooms and auditoriums, fostering a cohesive learning atmosphere.

Furthermore, the Reading Lounge utilizes 13 Epson laser projectors to deliver immersive storytelling experiences, illustrating the school’s commitment to making literature come alive through technology.
